2021-22 Leadership CREF

President, Jo Lucey

I joined Rotary in 2016 after a career in aerospace engineering (satellites and satellite operations) and a second career as an elected official in public education.  I’m the parent of two IPOs (Income Producing Offspring) whom I adore.  My husband and I love hiking and enjoy traveling.  I’ll be leading the CREF organization and look forward to working with everyone as we ‘do good in the world.’
Vice President Bill Wilson
Bill began his career as a professor of mathematics before turning to the field of information security.   Dr. Wilson came to the bay area to be part of the data security division at Sytek. In 1988, Bill co-founded Arca Systems, a pioneer provider of information security services. Since 2006 he has served on the Board of Trustees of the Fremont Union High School District.   He recently returned to teaching as a part time instructor at De Anza College.

Treasurer, Jim Davis

I joined the Cupertino Rotary in February 2019 to help the president of that year pad her new member statistics. Prior to that, for many years I volunteered for Rotary events such as Fall Fest, Golf Tournament, Rebuilding, Thanksgiving turkey delivery and Operation Snowflake. I retired in 2018 after 40 years in high tech, most recently with Microsemi Corp as the Vice President of Software Development. These days I can be found riding my road bike, playing and enjoying music, working in the yard, and having a large cat sit in my lap while reading (or anything else that requires me to sit down)

Secretary, Rose Ann Woolpert

Having lived in Cupertino for 35 years, I love hiking it’s beautiful hills, golf and travel. Writing, art and history are also important interests, and I am involved in supporting science and math education and philanthropy in connection with Graniterock, my family’s 120 year old construction business.

Richard Lowenthal has started several companies and has been an executive at ChargePoint, Cisco, StrataCom, Stardent Computers, and Convergent Technologies. He was formerly Mayor of Cupertino and has been President of several non-profits. He is a leading expert in electric vehicles and holds over 30 patents in EV charging.
He’s currently on the board of the Cupertino Educational Endowment Foundation, the Cupertino Rotary Endowment Foundation, and ChargePoint, Inc.

Director, Marjorie Mancuso

Director, Eleanor Watanabe

I was the founding executive director of the Cupertino Educational Endowment Foundation and President of Cupertino Rotary in 2002-2003.  Currently, in addition to Rotary, I am involved with several local community non-profits, however, my husband and I derive greatest joy sharing adventures with our 3 grandchildren who live nearby.  I’m looking forward to supporting our outstanding club leadership in the coming years.

Director, Hung Wei

I joined Cupertino Rotary in 2007 - one of the best decisions in life.  Rotary  connects me with good-hearted people who become life-long friends. Rotary also opens opportunities to expand my horizon in service and learning.  I wish to grow Rotary impact by bringing new members into Rotary.  Thus I’m currently happily serving as 2020-2021 District 5170 Membership Chair.

Administrator, Barbara McArthur

I joined Cupertino Rotary in 2011 after a career as a Human Resources executive in high tech and the food services industry. It has been very rewarding to join my fellow Cupertino Rotarians in our club’s many service projects and fundraising events.  I became a member of the Board of CREF in 2015 to assist in the work of this foundation and its financial support of Cupertino Rotary. Beginning in July 2020 I serve as Administrator, facilitating and keeping track of the many grants done by our club’s Avenue of Service committees and Board each and every year.

Club SDO, Joe Hamilton

I joined Rotary in 1993 and transferred to Cupertino Rotary in 2017.  I am a Past District Governor for District 5170 and Past Assistant Coordinator for Zone 26. I am the district representative for the R.I. 2022 Legislative Council. In Cupertino Rotary I am the Past Chair for World Community Services and active in the Membership Committee. I serve on the club Board of Directors and the CREF Board. As the SDO, my role is to guide the Board and the club top leadership in strategic measures and discussions.
I retired as Superintendent of Schools for the Fremont Union High School District in 2002 after 38 years in education. My wife Kathi and I have lived in Cupertino for the past 25 years.

Club President Elect Steve Onishi

I joined Rotary in 2010 while working in Marketing for a medical device company (cardiology). I have since transitioned to working in the non-profit sector as an Encore Fellow. My passions include technology, travel, working out, and designing, planning, and executing home projects.  I am excited to be President Elect and  support our Club's commitment to service and fellowship.

Club Past President, Stuart Rosenberg

I joined Rotary in 2011 after working in high tech and elementary education. I love working with technology, reading traveling and biking.  I am looking forward to leading our club in this challenging year and having all our members see the opportunities our club has to offer in service and fellowship

Club President Rod Sinks

I joined Cupertino Rotary in 2011 and value the opportunities for inspiration, fellowship and service. At the end of 2020, I will finish nine years of service in local government on the city council, the Air District, Silicon Valley Clean Energy and the Cities Association. Next year, I look forward to focusing my energy and passion on our club.
