Each fall, children living in poverty in the west valley start school in shoes that are too small, pants with holes, or clothing that is not seasonally appropriate. These young people in kindergarten through 12th grade show up without the basic supplies needed to start the school year off ready to learn - making it even more likely that they will fall behind their peers.

We need your help to make sure that doesn't happen!

At a typical Back-To-School Program, children are paired with an adult volunteer chaperone who assists them with choosing the clothing they need for school.  Later, they are given a backpack, supplies, and breakfast.  Unfortunately, that format is not possible this year.

Instead, West Valley Community Services staff will be assembling packages made of backpacks and gift cards at our office.  We will then coordinate with all our registered volunteers to do contact-less drop-offs of backpacks and gift cards on our client’s doorsteps.
