From Cathy C.- Rotary’s Guiding Principles
Throughout Rotary’s history, several basic principles have been developed to guide Rotarians in achieving the ideal of service and high ethical standards.
Object of Rotary First formulated in 1910 and adapted through the years as Rotary’s mission expanded, the Object of Rotary provides a succinct definition of the organization’s purpose as well as the club member’s responsibilities. The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster
First The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
Second High ethical standards in business and professions: the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian’s occupation as an opportunity to serve society;
Third The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian’s personal, business, and community life;
Fourth The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service

Bob H. - gave an update for the unofficial golf tournament for tomorrow. Bob is sending an email today.
Chris Carr – we have One Rotary Summit committee coming up. This will be a Zoom meeting and will be emailed out later today.
Happy Bucks
Chris R. - $20 bucks; 3 bucks to Scott Johnson for making his day; 3 bucks for Mac’s words of wisdom; 14 bucks, one for each day of Axel being in quarantine in Canada.
Char M. - Life at the Moline was great, taco truck outside the Moline and every resident got 2 tickets to enjoy.
Frank B. - great trip to CA for his mother’s birthday.
Nancy D. - had her son and his 2 boys visit. Saturday they went on a bike trail for 10 miles.
Ron U. - went to see a knee surgeon and replacements was not discussed. Shot of cortisone and he feels great.
Bob H. - had a sore foot since last summer but also had a cortisone shot which was great. Bob got 4 $100 checks from his Saturday morning group and they aren’t even golfing.
Chris Carr - went to his hunting land to cut wood and had a big black bear wake Chris from his nap on Saturday.

Dear District 5950 Rotarians:
We are excited to announce that this year's One Rotary Summit will be virtual, and will emphasize ways that we as Rotarians are acting on how Rotary Opens Opportunities. Please join us on Saturday, September 19 from 9-11:45am to hear about the relationships among Membership, Public Image, and Humanitarian Service through The Rotary Foundation. A group of facilitators will lead zoom breakout room groups in focused discussions about the connectedness of these areas of Rotary, opportunities that come through Rotary, how acting on opportunities can help clubs increase membership and member retention, and how these opportunities can also lead to greater giving to the Rotary Foundation.
