Each member in good standing is eligible to become a club President, but there is a process to get to that Chair. In our club it is easier than other clubs due to the fact that having our full time Treasurer, Mac Hardin, going through the chairs is shorter. We have the President, President Elect, and a Secretary. Our next year’s President is already ratified. In our club, the current Secretary moves up and is the President Elect and that position is put on our ballot as a formality. The office of Secretary is the active part of the election.
Our club typically has nominations in by the last week of Nov. so on Dec. 1 the election ballot is created. The ballot counting and declaration of the new Officer is Dec. 15. Clubs are encouraged to send that information within that next week to get into the RI Official Directory data base. These names are the club officers for the next fiscal year, beginning 07/01.
Any member in good standing is eligible to become a club president, but being a good team builder is most helpful. You learn what you’re good at, and what you’re not, and rely on others to fill the gap.
Announcements
Char M. – Announced that we are at $1500 raised so far in our club for Polio.
Jennifer S. – Informed of us of the opportunity to help out with carts at Byerly’s and raise some money for our club. She will send out date/time options soon.
Ron U. – Asked that anyone who received an email from him on the Stevie Ray fundraiser opportunity to please get back to him asap.
Nancy D. – Presented Resource West’s Executive Director, Tarrah Palm, with a donation from our foundation. Tarrah thanked the club and told us a little about Resource West and what they’re up to.
Jerald S. – Announced that we are starting the process in the raffle of collecting prizes. Please let him or Mike Glover know of any ideas/prizes.

Patrick is the Chief Security Officer for Medtronic and is also a Rotarian.
He warned of us of the dangers of the new “always on” world and steps we can do to protect ourselves and minimize risk.

Dear Rotarians!
I am a member of the City of Lakes Rotary Club in Minneapolis. This Thanksgiving season I am trying something new: I am baking and selling my homemade Fall Fruit Nut Pies! I will donate the profits to CES or our Rotary District (you choose where I donate your money!). I shared this idea with Tom Gump (who already pre-ordered 1 pie:) and he encouraged me to share this fundraising activity with you. Maybe some of your members would like to buy some pies or you could auction one of the pies at your upcoming meeting? I am open to all ideas!

Anna Prisacari from the City of Lakes Rotary Club is baking and selling her Fall Fruit Nut Pies. The profits will be donated to CES Food Shelf or our Rotary District (you choose). To help Anna plan the baking, she offers 3 days when you can come and pick up the pie from her house near 394 & Hopkins Crossroads (she lives in Minnetonka). To protect each other Anna will do the curbside pickup - she will deliver your pie to your car. To order your pie, please email Anna by October 31st and specify which day works best for you to pick up the pie and how many pies you'd like to order. Each pie is $25.
