Floriane Nibakure raffled several items from her recent trip to Rwanda. The money will support the pre-school project in Rwanda. The sale raised $70.00.
Chris Rosenlund thanked the members for sending him their commitments to the Rotary International Foundation. He’s received 49 forms from the club’s 62 members.
Mr. Rundquist asked for support to raise money for his siblings’ school to build a new playground.
Mark Magney won the raffle. Total prize $23.00.

Frank Babka announced the American Refugee Committee gala is sold out but always room for Rotary members. He stated that the organization focuses its efforts, in country, in Africa and Asia.
Todd Kurtz announced his family’s purchase of a third home in five years, hopefully the last for “a while”, and that his student loans are paid.
Bob Herzman visited his son in North Carolina.
Mr. Rosenlund visited the local Air National Guard station to view the Air Force training jet.
Darlyne received the Paul Harris +2 award, presented by Mr. Rosenlund.
Ms. Nibakure made a presentation on the Nibakure Village Pre School in southeastern Rwanda. She described her inspiration to start the project as an orphanage in the early 2000s, its opening in 2011, its short operation as an orphanage until 2016, the change in Rwandan government policy and the project’s transformation in 2018, to a pre-school in 2018 serving 53 children ages 3-5. She outlined the financial and volunteer support of various Rotary organizations including our Minnetonka club. Total Rotary support has been approximately $170,000. She highlighted some of the facilities at the school including its greenhouses and school rooms, water tower, vehicles, and livestock areas.
As part of World Polio Day, Ms. Quinn and Stacey Fisk presented a short video regarding polio detection and surveillance around the world. They encouraged and thanked the members for their direct financial and fundraising support. Their goal is to raise $500 in October. Ms. Fisk conducted a short framed photograph auction.
