Life is easy when you're up on the mountain,
and, you’ve got peace of mind like you’ve never known,
But, things change when you’re down in the valley,
Don’t lose faith, for you’re never alone.
For the God on the mountain is still God in the valley,
When things go wrong, he’ll make them right,
And the God in the good times is still God in the bad times,
The God of the day, is still God of the night.
We are sometimes down in the valley. One of our members, Pete G. has been in a valley. It was exactly one year ago today that his daughter was kicked in the head by a horse. She was near death and now requires constant care.
Please pray for Pete and his family.

Cathy C. - she recalled one of her past Rotary invocations. Look to the Rotary 4 way test as a guidepost for our lives.

Lord of the Universe – Help us to understand that no matter what name is given and in what language it is expressed, the philosophy of our Four Way Test is indeed the most true guidepost by which we should mark the trails of our existence here on earth….
Remind us that if that concept were universally held as a standard, by the people of all nations and faiths, there would be no wars, no hunger, no crimes against one another….
We pray that you continue to bless the work that we as Rotarians, from many nations and many faiths, do to help those less fortunate, for we believe that one manifestation of our Four Way Test is in our motto – Service Above Self.
Please give us an international time of peace on earth, good ill towards men, inspired by our great leaders and philosophers, who themselves were inspired by you Lord.
And finally, we ask you to guide those who, as our government leaders, make their daily decisions that affect us, so that their efforts, whether international or local, shall be motivated by this same great rule of charity and good will.

Introduced by Lenny Newman – Laura Sisterman from the Sojourner Project
The Sojourner Project goals are: awareness of domestic violence and support for victims.
1 in 3 women are victims of Domestic Violence.
Sojourner annually provides:
Shelter for 400 women and families
Advocacy for 900+ men and women and 330 children
Receives 2800+ calls to crisis line
Definition of Domestic Violence – It is a pattern of behavior .designed to establish power and control over someone.
There are many risk factors to establishing this behavior but there is no specific profile.
There are also many negative impacts on children in domestic violence situations.
Sojourner Shelter- 30 days is typical stay. It is an emergency shelter. Provides life skills, support, events for residents. It has been an essential service during COVID.
Legal Advocacy- provides legal support for Western Hennepin County. Collaborates with numerous police departments. Assists victims with court processes.
Outreach and Education- works to establish community awareness of the problem.
Presents Youth Violence Prevention programs (SafeU) to schools and communities
Provides professional training

This event provides a quirky, easy way to remember the foundations of great management. You will learn how to create a happier work or volunteer experience by following Santa's easy-to-follow management coaching principles that include choosing your reindeer wisely, sharing the milk and cookies and being good for goodness sake.

Please welcome to District 5950 the newest members to our Rotary family, the newly chartered 46-member Rotary Club of Network for Empowering Women! It is the first Rotary club in the world to focus on this specific cause. The members of this e-club come from Connecticut, Minnesota, New Jersey, Ohio and Virginia. In addition to being diverse in geographical area, the members are also diverse in gender, race, age, profession and religious belief.
