Bill S. - May 2 5-7 Bearcave Service Above Self and Socialize, looking for one more greeter to cover 30 min, starts 5:00, every 15-20 min will have a speaker, lot’s of food, buy your own beer.
 
Alexa R. – passed around Bearcave cards for May 2 to pass out to friends/guests. 50 people have indicated that they are coming via social media.  Post a reminder next week and also call people to remind them to come

ICA postal drive Sat May 13 is full
Tonka Trail Tot - Thurs May 4 at Deephaven Elementary School, May 20 Highway 7 Cleanup, May 20 Tonka Triathalon if interest.  Still needs 3 slots filled on May 4.
Minnetonka Youth Triathalon – 8-10:30 at MME, 6 volunteers needed, Saturday May 20, shall we do this – vote came back no
Famous Dave's – June 3 – 8:30 – 9:45 – please sign up
 
Lenny N. - 5 slots left for U of M Tour  - make checks to Minnetonka Rotary – this Saturday, he ran through names to confirm all signed up
Foundation  1.5-2 hour tour. Meet in Maroon lot.  Gather in front of Benton entrance.

Northstar [youth] exchange, will not sponsor someone for full year, but half a year is still available

Program
 
Char introduced Patrick Hanlon, Mayor of Hopkins.  
 
Spoke on Hopkins priorities. 
Development:
Hopkins mainstreet on National Registry of Historic Places, façade improvement funds available to mainstreet businesses, murals being added. Revamped zoning code, affordable housing initiatives
 
Sustainability:
Green step cities 3 since 2013, last year took step 4 and this year working towards step 5.  Parks plan being put in place working with Minnetonka.
Inclusion and Equity:
Reignited Hopkins race and equity, doing events, advising city, increase communication to renters in the city
 
Financial Management:
Working on affordability by making changes on taxes, lowering taxes, target getting to reasonable level “middle of the pack”
 
Safety:
Added Funding including comprehensive list of community safety including focus on youth in conjunction with police
 
Other items:
Comprehensive Development Blake and Excelsior – including access to Minnehaha Creek; 1500 more units over the next 10 years
Crime has dropped in 2023 over last year due to a lot of hard work including funding at State, Federal and local level
Southwest Light Rail – was not happy to see delay to 2027, meets regularly with Met Council, pushing to open trails back up
