Last minute Fundraiser talk; TOMORROW.
Sign up as a volunteer on-line; help still needed at the golf games.
Parking, our club members should mostly park in the Medical Examiners lot next door. Keep going straight past the golf course entrance, the arm on the gate will be open. Try to shuttle in with others, and ride one car back.
Lots of last day items; bring silent auction items, sell or bring back unsold tickets, bring guests.
A Club Foundation meeting next week; check the time and date to make sure.

Foundation Award Checks
Glenn J. introduced 2 recipients of our Foundation funds. [See pictures above. Ed.]
1. Meg Low from the Lake Mtka/Excelsior AM Club. The $1000 from our club went for 6 Girls Clubs in Guatemala. These clubs empower girls to stay in school, support each other, make a huge difference for 150-180 girls/year.
2. Tammy from West Suburban Special Ed received $500 to help those young adults who have very difficult lives. Homeless or group home kids get experiences and support they don’t have in their lives.
Thank you to both for ‘Building Responsible Youth’.

Frank B. - for the history of Books for Africa, and their 35th Anniversary Gala. Over 50 MILLION books and computers have been sent over these years.
Ann W. - for a meet with Connie Bergsven, our 4th President ( and I believe Ann was our 5th). Connie wishes our club well.
Sam S. - a trip to Chicago to see family, and a ‘loonnng’ drive from O’Hare to see them.
Chris Carr - for a fun time at James J Hill days, and now in the 4th week with their exchange student
Alexa R. - for Vicki(?) being here today, scout camping, and she’s looking for one of our Eagle Scouts to take part also.
Tony N. - for the Twins game last night with 3 other Rotarians, and traveling to Michigan for parent’s weekend.
Program
Kim Ratz has been involved with the YMCA for 35 years, and is glad to be spending much warmer winters in Minnesota, compared to Alaska. He gave the wonderful history of the Y, starting in 1860 in Minnesota. The Y triangle logo has their 3 missions; mind, spirit and physical health.
The Y is the largest non-profit in the U.S. Basketball, volleyball, swimming, water safety, camping, Toastmasters, after-school programs, and wilderness training all started with the Y. Gardening, sailing, gun safety, theater, and much more are included.
80% of their staff was trained by the Y with their own leadership program. The Y is inclusive; any age, race and faith is welcome.
Max Ostenso is the director of the Y’s Camp Christmas Tree. Max grew up in Hopkins, and attended school here. He began as a Y counselor in 2014, enjoyed the outdoor experience of the Y. He learned the Y’s values of caring, honesty, respect as part of the programs. Over 4000/year take part in Camp Christmas Tree, and they need more capacity for the waiting list.
The Y receives no government funding, all comes from fees and donations. $203,000 was raised last year, including our club.
The North YMCA, including the entire metro and state, is the 3rd largest Y in the country.
