Rotary is politically neutral. This is especially true during election years when political candidates should not be allowed to speak on topics that related to elections.

 

Our club’s 2 Exchange students were present: Mayuka Asai (from Japan) and Freja Sorensen (from Denmark).

Cloe from Playworks accepted a $500 check from the foundation for their work in helping kids stay active and building valuable social/emotional skills through play.

- The International Committee will meet Sept 11 – see La Wayne for details.

- The Membership Committee will meet Sept 20 at Guy’s house – see Guy or Tony for details.

- One Rotary Summit will be Sept 22

- Charter Night (28 yrs.) will be Oct 22

Ann (for Mark Marlin) – We will need everyone’s help in working the beer/wine tent at the Rock the Ridgedale free concert Sept 22 4:00-10:00. We will have 2 shifts. Johnny Holms will be playing and we expect a great fundraiser via a large crowd.
Chris Rosenlund is working on a brief training for those serving beverages at the event. Beer will be in cans.
 
 

Chris Leick – The club packed 500 backpacks at Resource West last week.

Jennifer – We will again register a day (Oct-Nov) to help the Free Bikes for Kids program (http://FB4K.org) - more to follow.

Char – On a sad note - Mark Marlin’s son Rylan (37) died Aug 22.

A celebration of Ryan's life will take place at Wayzata Community Church on Monday, October 15th at 6:30 PM. Memorials preferred to: The Retreat in Wayzata

Jim wanted to thank Tony and Jerald on their great work on his son’s college car.
Jennifer’s son turned 20 & is off to college
Ann and her 2 daughters will be spending time at the cabin this week.
Terry – was thankful his new deck held 20 people at the party he was hosting.
Molly was thankful for a great summer and her husband’s 60th birthday.
Cathy was thankful her grandson avoided a bear attack while in Yellowstone.
Guy is thankful he shares a birthday with a great American (John McCain).

Raffle Tickets $ - Jerald – 400 have been turned in sold -1100 TO GO to meet goal.
Turn in any sold Fund Raising ticket and tickets you don’t plan to sell (so they can be available if needed).

Volunteer Registration will be sent via Alexa.
Club Sign Up for Raffle Sales will be sent out again.
Bills & invoices should go to Ryan Johnson.
Molly has sent notice of the event to the papers.
Bob H needs a complete list of golfers – max will be about 80.
$10,000 Hole in One – Need someone to man it! (NOT PETE)
Mulligans will be $10 & “Gimme" stick (close enough to hole) will be $5.
