Hello Everyone, we know that some of you tried to attend via Zoom but unfortunately the Owl was in Deephaven and we were in Minnetonka. We tried to send each of you a note via an owl, like in Harry Potter, but again the owl was in Deephaven and could not make it to each of you. Bottom line it was Tony’s fault.

LEAD LEAD LEAD: Secretary Elect position is open. If you would like to nominate someone please let Tony know and also ask them. We can not accept nominations if the person does not know they have been nominated. The leadership line is 4 years – secretary elect, Secretary, president elect, than President! We need you!
FUN FUN FUN: Tony talked about club involvement in activities. Time to join a team and don’t forget to invite others to be on the team. The Club would like every member to be part of a team. Some teams you could join are: Programming, International Service, Community Service, Social, Foundation, Public Image, Polio, Fundraising, The Rotary Foundation!
COLD COLD & COLDER: Polar Plunge is coming up and we currently 15 jumpers and looking for more. Please consider donating to the jumpers – all funds raised go directly to Special Olympics. We will meet at Tavern 4&5 prior to the jump on March 9th for the safety meeting. Practice will be today at Minnetonka Lake Grey Bay AT 12:45pm – Ron will be leading this!
PACK PACK PACK: March 9th food packing at Second Hand Harvest organized by the Brooklyn Park Rotary Club. Mark Marlin is hoping the club can have 5 attendees. Reach out to Mark if you are able to join him March 9th – 9am-11am.
GIVE GIVE GIVE: The Minnetonka foundation gave Tree House a grant. Sam was here to accept the grant and tell us more about the organization. Tree House is a non-profit organization, to end hopeless in teens is their mission. 44% of teens felt hopeless for more than two weeks at a time in 2020. Tree House pairs teens with mentors to help them feel love and build relationships. Partner with Minnetonka and Hopkins schools directly in the schools.

Char M. – She has lived at the Moline in Hopkins for some time. Recently she realized she had a lot of extra time on her hands (okay I added that but she is constantly going and I can’t believe she decided to do more. Service Above Self!) She decided to join the Elks Club. They are doing a lot of good in the community and she wants to be involved. She had to be interviewed before they would accept her. At the end, she was asked one final question what is your involvement with Bill Sorteberg ….we don’t know what she said
Tony N. – He has a rare car in the shop and he ordered a wrong part. So now is has to drive 4 hours one way to pick up another part. He decided to turn this into a date and invited his wife along for a road trip! Tony is such a romantic.
Norm (speaker) – He just found that he was going Grandpa but don’t tell anyone because he was sworn to secrecy but he wanted to tell his Rotary family.

Hands free CPR can been done to the beat of the songs Another bites the dust (Thanks Tony), Staying Alive or 34 Taylor swift Songs!
This Marsh has two AEDs.
Norm’s son Teddy collapsed on June 16, 2009 while at football practice on the Wayzata football field. The defensive coordinator started CPR. They were able to get a pulse back. The AED was located in the building. He had suffered sudden cardiac arrest. Teddy has been thriving since 2009! They are still unsure why it happened.
Sudden Cardiac Arrest is the leading cause of Death of high school campuses. Every 3 days a high school athlete collapses.
Impact: The Plymouth Heart Safe Community Program has had a great impact on the community. They have donated 275 AED in community. Presented 17 Rotary Clubs. They have 7,700 Trained in 360 Training Sessions. They have donated 13 AEDs to the City of Plymouth and Area Non-Profits ($26,000) They have begun outdoor save station installations on Plymouth Athletic fields. ($15,000).
