Bonnie W. - Daughter found success as an artist.  Her paintings are in a show in San Francisco and has showings set up for Europe

Mark Magney introduced our speaker Mary O'Brien - a volunteer with Northstar Youth Exchange.  
 
We need someone from our club to step up for the Youth Exchange Chair.
 
Mary encourages clubs to build enthusiasm for the program
 
Youth exchange - inspires youth to serve as catalysts for peace and social justice in their communities
 
This program is all volunteer supported
 
Learn a new language
Explore a new culture
Build friendships and leadership skills
 
Today we sponsor 100 exchange students in 30 countries
It's a 1-1 exchange
 
Short Term Exchange Program - North Star Youth Exchange now offers new program for a summer that' 2 months long - one month in Minnesota and one month in a European school
 
Hosting - any size club can have an exchange program
 
Why be a host family - 
Learn another culture and how others view your culture
 
15-19 yo students' families pay $7000 fee to send a student out
 
Money Raised
 
$10 polio
$65 from raffle/HB
