Phil founded a local chapter of Men's Shed - this is an international group that is focused on reducing isolation and loneliness for older men. They also work with men afflicted with Alzheimers and Dementia. The group was founded in Australia; this group has been supported by Rotary from its inception. They like to bring older men together to work on hands-on projects and foster camaraderie, sharing and social interaction. The Hopkins chapter is housed at the Hopkins Activity Center and has done numerous community projects. there are 13 Men's Shed clubs in the US and they would like to see 50 in the next few years. there are over 2000 clubs in Australia.
