Program
Golf/Auction Fundraiser
Ron Usem gave a little background on our Golf/Auction Fundraising. Prior to 2000 the club had a multitude of small fundraising events. The Golf/Auction started in 2000 and has grown ever since.
Mike Glover & Jerald Stiele are chairing the event.
This year's event will be Thursday Sept 11th at Glen Lake Golf Course
Our target is to raise $55,000.
The event is made up of 6 parts: 1) Golf 2) Silent Auction 3) Gift Baskets 4) Meal Component 5) Raffle 6) Clean-up
Chris Rosenlund said got positive feedback that the event doesn’t consume an entire day. It’s a 9-hole scramble on an Executive course.
Golf teams start at 2:30 and take about 2 ½ hours. Eating at 5:30. The Silent Auction, Raffle drawings and Golf awards take place about 6:30.
There is an 88-golfer limit that usually fills up early.
The golf fee is $125.
Sponsors are an important part of the fundraising
A Platinum Sponsor is $5,500 & includes 4 golfers
A Gold Sponsor is $1,000 & includes 2 golfers.
A Silver Sponsor is $500
Being a Sponsor gets you some great advertising
We would like to average $800/Rotary member. This can be via selling tickets, getting sponsors, baskets, or other silent auction items.
Alexa Runquist oversees online registration. Include the names of the people you have invited to golf.
Everyone must register for golf, meals etc. Alexa will invoice you.
Cathy Carlson and Amy Saldanha are responsible for the Silent Auction & Baskets. They handed out list of potential basket themes.
Baskets should be from $80-$125 in value. Any items over that will also be on the Auction Table and bid on separately.
Ideas on items/baskets & the point-people for each should be given to Cathy in the next few weeks. Ask others to help create the baskets.
Baskets & other items should be given to Cathy at our Wed meeting or delivered to her office in Eden Prairie. All items should be turned over to Cathy by the end of Aug.
Bill Sorteberg said to contact him if you are aware of brewers that might want to offer their services.
Jennifer St Clair is responsible for Volunteers. We will need 45 volunteers to a multitude of activities. Jennifer will send out more info on how to volunteer.
