Invocation by Mark Marlin; On this date, August 3, Columbus sailed from Spain in 1492 to reach China, and Jesse Owens earned 4 gold medals in the 1936 Olympics. Huge accomplishments for both, but did it change the effect they had on the world around them?
We can continue to strive to change the world, but not forget to concentrate on those close to us, continue to love God, and love and reach
out to our neighbors around us.

Alexa R. - NOW is the time to sell hard. Go to Rotary meetings, invite people to come to the event, and above all, tell them the 'WHY' they should support our causes and recipients.
Bob H. - we have a plan to keep the pace of golf up, so we can accommodate more golfers. Keep asking for sponsors, and we want to make more room for those platinum 4-golfer sponsors.
Nate R. - he was elected the President of the Club Foundation Board.
Mike G. - He wants all committee chairs to send him the names of the members of each committee.

Program
Elizabeth Winslow, from McPhail. Elizabeth is the Director of School Partnerships, and enjoys spending time with her favorite people, teenage musicians. It has been an on-line program since 2011, and draws students form all over the state.
Equity and Youth and Instrumental Music introduces teens to an entirely new experience, even if very few of them have access to instruments. All forms of music are taught, from orchestra, bands, jazz, and choirs. Funding is from legislation and grants.
Elizabeth talked today of the Role of the Composer. The basics are tempo, volume, and collaboration. The artistry is from the composer's ability to bring out the expression and heart of the music. She showed us basic hand movements, where the Left and Right hands lead in different ways. The body language and eye contact are amazing to watch, as we saw in several videos of how different composers work. Lively, lyrical, and somber music are clearly evident in the composer's style.
Thank you, Elizabeth, for a wonderful presentation of an area most of us knew little about
