Sam S. - Sam talked of the passing of former member Ron Levitus. He and Ron were lifelong friends.
Char M. - for Mark Marlin’s retirement party, with several Rotarians. And her 11 yo granddaughter playing fast-pitch softball.
Ann W. - for Traci jumping in to take charge of the Buckets of Booze.-
Scott N. - for family trips, a daughter safe with a Tsunami in Hawaii,
Scott B. - to be here, and for a bike ride across Iowa that got cut short. Weather and breakdowns only allowed 4 days, but in all, a good thing
Phil H. - car trouble in Alexandria, met some great people, to San Francisco for a wedding
Chris R. - long awaited vacations with family and college friends
Lenny N. - off to see his Mom and Dad for a surprise birthday party
Glenn J. - family in town from Washington DC, and a Danube river cruise coming up.
Bob H. - for a busy June with birthdays and a trip to Alaska; AND, after some time waiting, a new grandchild is on the way.
Ron U. - for the memory of Ron Levitus.
Program
Today’s meeting is a combination of Club Service and heavy on the Fundraiser on Sept 11.
Bonnie W. - Tonka Bottle Shop continues to be very generous wit premium spirits.
Sara E. - on Programming; all members are asked to seek out speakers. If you can’t fill a service spot, find a member who will fill in for you. On August 13, bunnies will be in the room, if you have any allergies.
Jerald S. On the Fundraiser, Our goal is $55,000.
Chris R. - sponsors are our #1, 74%, source of income. We need to seek them out. Levels of sponsors; $1500, $1000, $800 and $200 Each member has a target of $800 in money brought in for the Fundraiser.
Ann W. - on Baskets; there are several teams set up; join one, or start your own basket.
Cathy C. - On Silent Auction. Ask friends you do business with. Deadline is August 27.
Traci R. - each member needs to bring a bottle of wine or spirits for the baskets.
Jerald S. - Raffle tickets; get out and sell, seek OPM (Other People’s Money)
Char M. Club Foundation; we gave $12,482 to International last year.
Bob H. - Community Service’ this is a very big part of being a Rotarian. Every member is also a part of Community Service in participating, and especially thinking of services, and being a champion for them. We have a target of 1 project per month.
