District governor Irene Kelly joined us today. Our club is one of 13 clubs who received a Presidential Citation! Irene presented our club a special recognition for 100% Foundation giving this past year. Collaboration, media involvement, funded a grant, service projects exceeded our goal at 52, # of people sponsored (4). Leadership involvement with young people. Yay us!

The Sojourner Project, "Increasing safety for communities and individuals since 1979," provides safety to men and women that are experiencing domestic violence in the west metro area.
Sojourner Project, often known as Sojourner, was named in honor of Sojourner Truth, a traveling philosopher and orator, a woman who spoke about justice, equality, truth and the need for change.
In taking her name, Sojourner's founders endeavored to honor the principles for which she stood and to continue her efforts to provide hope, safety, and support to those victimized by violence and abuse. Their commitment has not wavered and this is evidenced in our current agency mission and goals.
