Today's speaker, Pam Ho from the Women's Foundation.
Invocation
Invocation by Chris Carr, on gratitude. His daughter just celebrated her 13th birthday, and was thankful for everything she has; family, friends, opportunities, and fun together. She has seen others without them and she is thankful for these things.
Let's all take stock of our lives, and be equally grateful for all that we have, not
the least of which is this Rotary Club.

Rotary Minute
Cathy C. - The RI has been on an 18 month project to Celebrate Community. There are other service organizations (Lions, Kiwanis, Optimists) in our communities that we can share ideas and efforts with.
ALL of these serve locally and change lives. We can reach out, work together, for projects in health, food, education, literacy and the environment. We could even learn a few things about club structures, and make a bigger splash.

Mark Magney - their 1st grandchild is just past the due date, and they'll take a long road trip to Idaho and California
Frank B. - just back from a Nebraska road trip for a for a funeral, and enjoyed the beauty of harvest time.
Jennifer S. - also for today's sunrise and very grateful for her children. It's very obvious, Jennifer.
Bob H. - One last sunrise thankfulness. His sister just passed away, and in the eulogy, he commented how a sunrise gives us a promise of a beautiful day, and the sunset makes us grateful for the day. Happy thoughts about his sister Jean today.
Program
Speaker, Pam Ho from the Women's Foundation of Minnesota
The WFM was formed in 1983. Pam is in charge of Philanthropic Partnerships, among other things. She just left NY in March 2020 to escape Covid, and is glad to be back with family. The goals of WFM are several; gender and racial equality in the workforce, provide grants, do research to determine the best use of funds, communications, partnerships, and determine policy agendas in local government.
Over 150,000 Minnesotans received the benefit of $4 million in grants last year. WMF forms relationships with for-profit and non-profits, corporations, and the educational world. They attempt to change the norms of how we have done things in the past. and target their funds for best impact.
Last year was especially difficult with Covid, and $1 million was given out for emergency funds. Significant issues for women are violence, food, housing, and other barriers and challenges.
Older women also have a separate set of issues that are life-long.
WMF has listening sessions to address race, murder, trafficking, young girls, workplace, and justice.
Thank you, Pam, for a terrific talk today. It brought out many questions, and our support, for what you do at WFM.
