On my way to work I saw a new John Deere lawn tractor next door, and a guy with a Bobcat doing work, and a guy with the new telephone pole. It made me realize that I needed to be content no matter what circumstances. In Philippians 4:11-12: Paul says…. I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.  I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty.  I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 

Dear Father, thank you for all the blessings that you give us, not the least of which is the Blessing of Contentment.  Help us to learn to be content, no matter how much or how little we have, so we can truly enjoy your Blessing of Contentment.  Amen
 
 
Cathy's ticket was called but the drawing of the card was not successful; potential winnings added to next week’s drawings.
 
 
 
•    Wednesday 6/20: 5:00 P.M. at Maynard’s. This will a celebration for the Passing of the gavel.
•    Alexa read a letter from Emma Carlson, of  Minnetonka High School who sent a thank you for the scholarship she received from the Minnetonka Rotary Club.
•    Monday 6/18 meeting 6:00 P.M. at Char’s pool..... make that the Sky Deck 
•    Mark reminded everyone that more volunteers are needed for Summerfest, which is held on 6/23/2018, especially for the 4:00-7:00 P.M.
•    Board meeting 6/15 at The Commons Hopkins at 7:30 A.M. to go over the upcoming budget.
 Carolyn Anderson supports women who have cancer by giving hair pieces to who have lost their hair due to treatment. The Club gave her$1,000 to help her program, Angel Hair Services, as she 

continues to supports these women. More information can be found at http://www.angelhairforcancer.org

Roger: 2 friends are coming into town for a 50-year high school reunion 
•    Dr. Bob: Gratitude for Sunday’s service for Alan; he did many great things in his life
•    Dale: Came back from Boston; it was a great trip.
•    Mark: Gratitude for everyone who came to the open house
•    Anne: Gratitude for the Progressive Dinner, especially the hosts
•    Regina: Grateful to be with the Club every Wednesday
•    Todd: Gratitude for how well the Progressive Dinner went; received a letter from someone who is interested in buying their house. They are coming to tour the house on 6/15
•    Floriane: She is going to Toronto, where she will be meeting other Rotarians
•    Nancy: gratitude for bike ride and its related scenery; gratitude for upcoming September bike ride for the Winona Rotary event
•    Bill: Gratitude for Mack taking over
•    Jennifer: Congratulations to Dr. Bob’s birthday; daughter came back home unemployed. But now she is working for U of M in urology, starting this week
•    Karen: Gratitude for her Dad
•    Mark: Excited to head to North shore cabin; happy/sad buck for Farez’s last meeting 
•    Farez: Grateful to meet all Club members
•    Frank: Alan’s funeral service was really well-done; tree planting along Minnehaha Creek was very interesting and educational (they planted 65 trees)
•    Darlyne: Son, Matt, finished MS 150, Darlyne was able to complete 50.
•    Guy: Progressive Dinner was wonderful. Was also very appreciative for the turnout to Alan’s funeral & how well the tree planning event went. He is looking forward to going to Toronto.
•    Diane: Going to Peru in week with the Smile Network. She is hiking & then working in the hospital with children who are receiving clef palate surgery.
•    Char: Going to Orlando for daughter’s volleyball tournament
•    Cathy: her grandson is working during the day & on weekends at 2 different jobs, and is progressing through multiple degree programs at 
•    Jacob: Gratitude for Alan’s funeral service, the Progressive Dinner. Jacob gave keynote address on 6/12 in St. Paul. Jacob is also going to Toronto. Jacob is also grateful for Passing of Gavel, as well expressed appreciation for Farez. 
•    Elizabeth Dahl, Creative Development Director at Future Roots Program, gave update on the work being done. Last year, Minnetonka Club gave $1,000. They are hosting fundraising event in Robbinsdale at the Wicked Wort on August 2nd, to learn more about the work being done and planned work for the future.

 
 
 
  • She is Norwegian & British
  • She loves camping, especially at White Water State Park
  • She started playing the viola in 5th grade. This has really helped shape her love of Opera.
  • She initially got involved in Rotary through a college friend who was very involved in Rotary, who sent her spreadsheets of all Clubs in Nancy’s geographical area. She found a food packing event being held at Eisenhower Community Center, and hooked her.
  • In January 2017, she went to India with Rotarians from Maine. She has a statue of Buddha to help her remember the trip’s memories.
  • Nancy has a deep passion for volunteering. She has spent a lifetime being involved with community; the volunteering community is the largest unpaid workforce in the United States.
  • She grew up in Rochester, MN. She is going to her 50th high school reunion this summer (John Marshall). Graduated from Gustavus in 1972. Has lived in Minnesota, Maryland, Florida. She got tired of the heat in the Southeast (and she missed her family, which is in the Minnesota-area, so she moved back to Minnesota).
  • Would like to go to Croatia & Norway.
  • Biking has been a significant part of Nancy’s life. She has biked in many states in the U.S., as well as multiple countries around the world
