Program

Guest Intro by Alexia: Erik Johnson, met freshman year of college NDS; he was the last one to leave the party and the first one at the library in the morning; he fulfills the 4-way test; excellent guitar player.

Speaker: Erik Johnson (EJ); a pilot for 15 years and with Delta the past 8; father of two and one on the way; his schedule allows him great family time at this point in his career; he currently flies Boing 737’s;

Erik’s father and grandfather were/are both pilots; he did fly a plane with his father for Delta.

He was licensed to fly at age 17; graduated with a 4 year program from North Dakota; hired out of college and upgraded to Captain when he was 24.

Whole career he’s been questioned if he’s old enough to fly!
As a pilot you “live and die” by your seniority number you get when you’re hired.

Auto pilot is used a lot so the pilots can monitor all the equipment for a safe flight; different landscapes and weather conditions unfold continually through the flight.

Pandemic he continued to fly empty airplanes carrying cargo; layovers were weird with no people in the towns he landed at.
