Cathy C introduced the speaker, Michael Allen Exec Director with “My Very Own Bed”
He stated that every kid should have a place to sleep well every night.

MVOB started in Michael’s South Minneapolis garage
Since inception, over 10,000 beds have been provided
160 beds/month currently delivered by 6 full-time staff

Volunteer opportunities for deliveries, frame building and donations
Total cost of a delivered bed including frame, mattress and dream kits approximately $300-$350.
Current goal is to deliver 1,900 beds.
Michael was born and raised in Orono and educated at Benilde St. Margaret's.
