We had 2 guests, Meg Low and LaWayne Yaeger, both from the Excelsior Morning club.

Rotary Minute
Cathy C. told us Rotary and Toastmasters have formed a collaboration to enhance communication and leadership skills in our membership. If you are interested in learning more, please see Cathy C.
Announcements
Char M. - told us we raised $1,782 year to date for Polio Plus. There is a 2 for 1 match available to us, if you have not given, please consider doing so.
Nancy D - told us the Foundation Committee met and approved 2 grants, one to MacPhail Center for Music and the other to Teens Alone. The club will be participating in the District’s service project next Spring, as well planting trees.
Chris Carr - There will be a Board meeting Friday, Nov 20 at 7:30 am.
Mike G. - reminded us the club is looking for big ticket items for our raffle that will start in Jan. If you have an item, please let Mike G. or Jerald S. know.
Happy Bucks
Ben M. - is happy he will be seeing Bill Sorteberg to help him with his new office furniture. He is also happy that his father received a clean scan, he is officially in remission!
Karen H. - is happy that her grand-daughter is now walking.
Bill S. - is happy that he gets to sell Ben new office furniture.
Mark Marlin is happy that his son, Brett, has 3 closing in Dec.
Frank B. - is happy that he gets to enjoy the scenic drive to Dubuque, Iowa later this week.
Florianne N. - was sad to say one of her co-workers fell into a 26’ ditch earlier in the week and passed away. Please keep her and her family in your prayers.
Stacy Q - is happy they are surviving covid and that she has a new job.
Mike G. - is happy to see Dale Feste again.
Betsy W. - is happy that Highland Ski is opening this week-end. Her son will be able to spend sometime out doors and away from the computer screen.
Bob H. -is happy because his son met Pres Barack Obama on the golf course last week in Wash DC.
Nancy D.- is happy her son has been named CFO of Kimberly Clark-Adult and Children’s products.
Chris Carr - is happy the Vikings won and that he was able to spend time with his daughter at Joe’s Ski Shack in Little Canada.

Nancy gave us an overview our of Club’s Foundation. The purpose of the club is to receive money and to donate money. She thanked her committee for their hard work and dedication.

Meg Low and LaWayne Yaeger told us about a project the Excelsior Rotary Club sponsored, Wakami Project in Guatemala. Our club donated $2000 to the project.
The program empowers women to establish their own micro business, and connects them to sell their products worldwide, thereby allowing these women to have sustainable prosperity. Wakami stands for Purpose, Prosperity and Hope. LaWayne and Meg both traveled to Guatemala with the project. If you are interested in learning more, please reach out to them.

Hello Community Partners:
Thank you for your past participation in our Community Leader’s Thanksgiving “Bagging for Tips” at Cub Foods. During this COVID environment, we are working with Cub Foods to creatively re-invent this event.
On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, November 23, 24, and/or 25, Cub has generously offered to give us a table at the store entrance for two people to greet customers and offer them Thanksgiving Holiday certificates.

Dear Rotarians!
I am a member of the City of Lakes Rotary Club in Minneapolis. This Thanksgiving season I am trying something new: I am baking and selling my homemade Fall Fruit Nut Pies! I will donate the profits to CES or our Rotary District (you choose where I donate your money!). I shared this idea with Tom Gump (who already pre-ordered 1 pie:) and he encouraged me to share this fundraising activity with you. Maybe some of your members would like to buy some pies or you could auction one of the pies at your upcoming meeting? I am open to all ideas!

Anna Prisacari from the City of Lakes Rotary Club is baking and selling her Fall Fruit Nut Pies. The profits will be donated to CES Food Shelf or our Rotary District (you choose). To help Anna plan the baking, she offers 3 days when you can come and pick up the pie from her house near 394 & Hopkins Crossroads (she lives in Minnetonka). To protect each other Anna will do the curbside pickup - she will deliver your pie to your car. To order your pie, please email Anna by October 31st and specify which day works best for you to pick up the pie and how many pies you'd like to order. Each pie is $25.
