Cathy C. - This year 2021, Rotary International Convention will be virtual. Better than ever! $70 registration fee. Should tune in. Starts a week from Saturday. Network in virtual spaces. Convention based out of Taipei, Taiwan.

From Cathy C. - 2021 Rotary International Convention

This year 2021 RI will host the Virtual Convention, and due to that format, it will be “better than ever”. It will open more innovative opportunities to learn and engage with the family of Rotary, near and far. You will be able to network in virtual lounges, meet new partners in service, and join fun activities with Rotary members from around the world.

The convention is next week, June 12-16, based out of Taipei, Taiwan. Taipei was the site of the Rotary Convention the year I was incoming Hopkins President in 1994-95, and it was an amazing in person experience, shared with 30,000 of my fellow Rotarians from around the world. This year will be totally different, but the convention will reflect the resourcefulness and creativity of Rotary. I encourage everyone to go online and register to participate in some of the upgraded virtual experiences – the program, stories, interviews, multi-cultural entertainment.

I also want you to be aware that third parties are attempting to sell you the 2020 and 2021 virtual attendee lists. Rotary does not sell name lists, nor does it partner with third parties. These emails should be reported to Privacy@Rotary.org.

Bob H. - going to North Carolina, 2^nd grandson due June 7.

Floriane N. - back in Rwanda on-site, daughter is pregnant and she will be a grandma, in 2 weeks will be back in MN

Getting new people, new contributions, most important contributions are those new donors, have so many people that are new donors- that will give us longevity as a Club

Where money is going-

Rotary International has a Top Rating from Charity Navigator

90% funds go programming, roughly 9% Administrative
50% of money goes to world fund, 50% back to district designated funds
2018: about 140 Million given to annual fund

Paul Harris Fellow- accumulated contributions in excess of $1000

Paul Harris Society- Rotary is one of primary causes to support- $1,000+/ year

Reminder: Rotary Direct is direct way to donate

Year to Date- Contributions as a Club. Through end of June goal is for 25K go towards annual fund. Current 22K, roughly about $2400 light right now

Large polio fundraiser last year- 43K/ 44K with all contributions, Minnetonka Rotary $6500

Annual Fund Per Capita- 54 members, amongst leaders in our district for giving per member
