Program
Speaker was Roger Andre and his two students that presented the Minnetonka High School Advantage program;
Generally the program is for Jr. and Seniors, but this year there are some Sophomores.
The program is about 10 years old and Mtka is the only HS that has this program.
It is a full year program and each semester the students choose from one of the 8 “study areas:” Global Business, Business Analytics, Global Sustainability, Design & Marketing, Digital Journalism, Health Sciences, User Experience-Design and new this year Public Policy. They form teams, meet with an employee from a local company, work on a “problem” for that company and at the end of each semester present their “solutions” to the company.
The students were both very impressive and said the program helps them mature, build confidence, learn how to lead and how to work on a team.
The program is located off campus and meets 2 to 3 days/ week. Below is the note from Roger and some possible ways you maybe able to help the Advantage program.
