Mark Marlin - on a successful Summerfest result on Saturday. 15 volunteers spent several hours in raising our 2nd largest amount ever, in the area of $6000 for our Foundation. Mark reminds us that every member is involved in time spent serving and volunteering towards this end.
A weekly update and request from our Fundraiser key members;
Jerald S. - sell your allotted raffle book tickets, and ask for more.
Ann W. - many baskets are done, room for several more. Everyone start bringing in donations for our ‘Buckets of Booze’
Cathy C. keep asking for donations for our Silent Auction items.
Alexa R. end in photos and stories of your first car for Tony’s end of year.
Ron U and Frank B. - our sound abatement may be a ways off through the Marsh, but other, simpler ideas are coming.
Bob H. - we have gotten terrific service for 2-3 years from Munkabean’s with early coffee prep every week. Brenna and Carissa who make that happen both will be (have been) married this summer.
Bob H. - passed the hat around as a gift from our club. Look for a Venmo email as another way to contribute.
Don C. - on Visioning. We will be talking about our mission statement at next Board Meeting on June 28 at ICA office at 7:30.

Chris Carr - for a Mtka Rotary 4some at the Crystal Club event, with Nate, Chris R and Magney.
Lenny - for a 5 day trip to visit family in Ohio, and Kudos to Mark Marlin for heading up. Summerfest for 6 years. We have netted over $25,000 towards or Foundation.
Jim M. - for his mother’s 93rd birthday, and a summer trip to the Finger Lakes in NY
Ron U. - for being a good luck charm in keeping the rain away for Summerfest.
Alexa R. - for surviving a 5 day Scout Camp, with plenty of rain and even storm sirens. All Good!
Frank B. - for an upcoming trip to Monterrey for HIS mother’s upcoming 95th birthday.
Alissa O. for a trip to Colorado to visit family, and a new niece or nephew on the way.
We had time for some impromptu info on two areas;
Don C. - briefed us on his committee work on forming new Vision and Mission Statements. We want to have clear wordings when people ask, “What does your club do?” You can ask Don for the statements so far, and add your suggestions. It will be presented to the Board on June 28.
Nate R. - discussed the trip that he and Alexa took for the RI Annual Convention in Singapore. Two long flight days, a couple of sightseeing days in Bangkok and Thailand, and 5 days of RI meetings. About 14,000 Rotarians in attendance. Thank you to both for taking part in that.

Anne Buck, with 30+ years in law enforcement and the last 17 with the Hopkins PD
Her topic today is Personal Safety and Scams and Fraud.
On safety, her tips were never go alone, tell someone where you are, use the buddy system, go to safe places if necessary (with people and a phone), park in well-lit areas. Don’t ‘flash cash’
On scams; there are hundreds of methods where people will attempt to take your money.
Legitimate agencies will never call you; phone, texts and emails are like sources of fraud.
Never send money or gift cards to someone on phone or email. Even now, door-to door scams are becoming common. You don’t have to open your door if you’re unsure of who it is.
Be skeptical, ask for written materials, never give out SSN’s, Driver License, birthdates
Don’t keep your important info on your phone, or with you. Guard your mail and even your trash.
Theft from vehicles is even easier now with electronic unlock technology.
The local number for 911 is 952-258-5321. Calls go directly to 911 or the Police.
