Terry S. reluctantly admitted he had the winning ticket and, in the end, did not win the handsome jack pot of $17.00. Better luck next time Terry.

 

Excelsior Rotary is having a golf event at Deer Run golf course on August 22
-October 24 is World Polio Day
-Board meeting will be on July 20 at the Minnetonka Commons by Famous Dave’s
-July 21 there will be an ICA event see Christine for details.
-A Future Roots fund raiser will be held on August 2
-The first social will be on August 3 at Brook View from 6-9 see Donna or Darlene for details.
-September 13 is our golf fund raiser at Glen Lake golf course.
-Pete G. will be throwing things at the Scott County Fair July 26 through the 28.   He says it will be pottery, feel free to stop by and show him how he should be doing it. 

 

Ron represented Sam who gave $5 for his 2 new grandchildren.
-Mark Magney is taking a trip to Montana and Idaho for a week.
-Guy is happy for his guest, he is happy to have a niece visiting.
-Regina is happy to be alive and feels we are all insane and no one could disagree.
-Jennifer had a great trip to Chicago.
-Bill and Scott are happy to be doing their long-standing golf trip in Duluth with good friends.
-Lenny thanked Gerald for doing a good job on his car.
-Bob thanked Gerald for doing a good job on his car as well, and is also happy his wife gets to go on a trip with their daughter.
-Roger is happy about the weather.
-Alexa said Nolan had a good birthday party.
-Donna is happy to be having her 40th birthday and for a new grandchild.
-Darlene was happy to have good feedback on social ideas for the club.
-Gerald is happy people drive by braille, Lenny and Bob are in that group, and others that shall not be named.
-Nancy gets to go on a bike riding trip to the San Juan Islands next week.
 
There were more Happy Bucks, but our intrepid reporter had a hard time keeping up as everyone was deliriously happy.
 
 
-Treasurer Mac says things are in good shape and the budget should be approved at the July 20 meeting.
-P.R. person Alexa will be sending out thank you letters, she would like to know how people use the web site and would like ways to improve it. She will be making the Club Runner more informative and encourages people to like things on our Facebook page. Sue K. will be doing the Spoke and Glen will be updating the calendar and making that more user friendly.
-Foundation is headed by the one and only Chris R. He says we met our goal but would like to start the process earlier so we don’t bump up as close to the deadline in the future. If you have an interest in being part of this committee please see Chris to learn more.
-Jacob is in charge of the Minnetonka Foundation and says we are ready to give out grant money to people or organizations that will give out grants. He is also looking for leads and info from members with ideas for grant recipients.
-Karen H. will be helping with our program committee and the weekly assignments. We have speakers through October, but if you have any new ones or suggestions please see her.
-Mark Magney has been doing the youth exchange for 10 years. We will be having 2 exchange students this year and we would like to give each Rotarian the opportunity to do something with each student. For more information on how this program works see Mark and/or look up North Star Youth Exchange.
-Christine Leick and Jennifer St.Clair are part of the community services committee. Just a few of the things this crew will put together are the Hwy 7 clean-up which will happen 2 times this year, Loaves and Fishes, Resource West events, and more.
-The International community service committee will be led by LaWayne and also on this committee will be Christine, Dan N., and Guy.
-Membership committee is Guy and Tony. A few goals are: to improve the induction ceremony,have welcome packets, make a new membership brochure to name a few.
-Chris C. will be heading the fundraiser crew
-Nate R. and Lenny N. are the visioning committee. One of their goals is to put together a signature project for the club a few suggestions are working with beds for kids or adult options and education.
