Carol Mattingly
Youth Exchange Chair
Rotary District 5910
Carol Mattingly serves as Chair of the District 5910 Rotary Youth Exchange Program. Carol has been involved with RYE for many years. Her late husband PDG Glen Mattingly, started Rotary Youth Exchange in District 5910. Carol and Glen hosted 19 long term students. She has served as Rotary Counselor for five students and has served as an orientation trainer for Outbound, Inbound and Short Term students for many years. Carol serves on the Board of Directors for the North American Youth Exchange Network (NAYEN). Carol holds a BA and MA in Mathematics from Sam Houston State University. She was Mathematics Department Chair at Conroe High School for four years and retired after 30 years of teaching there. After retirement, Carol spends most of her time working with the District RYE program and is a member of the Rotary Club of Huntsville. Carol enjoys traveling and spending time with friends and family.

John Manfredi has been the Executive Director of Beaumont Community Players since 2017. In that time, the regional theater market has declined with over 1/3 of all theaters closing. Many theaters never opened after overbearing Covid restrictions. However, in the same time period, BCP has grown and increased ticket sales by over 10%. Over 70% of its revenue comes from ticket sales and the remaining comes from fundraising. BCP is a producing theater that is responsible for producing and manufacturing everything from story lines to sets. BCP adds $2.5 million to the local economy each year. BCP produces everything from regular and seasonal plays, children’s plays called Kidmunity to plays with sing language and special needs. 2023 is the 99th year for Beaumont Community Players and will be its last.
Beaumont Community Players will rebrand in 2024 to Southeast Texas Stages to better identify its community reach – Beaumont, Orange, Port Arthur, Lumberton, etc.
