As the Operations Support Department Head at ExxonMobil’s Beaumont, Texas Refinery, Jason Pettrey leads the team that provides engineering support to the operating units inside the facility.
Jason received his degree in Chemical Engineering from Virginia Tech in 2002, after completing several co-op terms in Refining, Polymers, and Chemical manufacturing at ExxonMobil’s Gulf Coast facilities. He began a full-time career with ExxonMobil in Baytown, Texas working a series of assignments as a Process Engineer and then as a Coordinator in the Baytown Complex and a Technical Section supervisor, followed by a Process Section supervisor role to manage the Baytown Refinery’s Crude Distillation & Delayed Coking units.
Jason relocated to the Fairfax, Virginia campus in 2010 for a series of assignments and is now assigned to the Beaumont refinery.
Saturday, July 11 will be the day we plan to start work! Be there if you can.
The Club will be providing expertise and a labor force to help Nutrition and Services for Seniors as they build a garden to plant, grow and provide fresh produce for seniors and the homebound who receive meal delivery. Such a great project and we are excited to have the opportunity to assist with this effort as our quarterly undertaking!
This week will be hauling fence posts to the holes, mixing concrete, and leveling posts. If you have one, bring an old wheelbarrow, shovel, and a level. On the 18th, the actual fence pickets, runners and hardware will go in.
The location is 4590 Concord Rd, across Concord from the Village Shopping Center.
Plan to bring WATER, work gloves, a hat, sunscreen, and a power screwdriver if you have one.
Thank you to the volunteers who helped with the flag project on Independence Day! Our great volunteers took to the streets and got the job done with compliments from those who appreciate the efforts!
We are inching closer and closer to 500 flags! Spread the word and let's hit that target!

Roger then installed Pat Anderson as President. Pat has instituted a new “tradition” of Past Presidents passing the gavel on to the new President. Pat wants the club to understand the strong continuity of the club through its Past Presidents and the Board of Directors members serving three year terms.
Pat then addressed the club with his plan for a successful Rotary year and beyond. “Be a Gift to the World” is Rotary’s motto for the year 2015-2016. To Pat, this is the perfect statement as he encourages members to use their own individual talents (gifts) to make the year a success. His overall goals are clear: fellowship, interaction, growing business and growing memberships. He is looking at new projects to enable club members to expand their interests and level of engagement. He wants to make sure that members are aware that he is adding the 5th question to the Four-Way Test: IS IT FUN?
President Pat is very humble about the trust that the club has placed in him and he wants members to know that their support is appreciated. Pat closed his installation program with a Rotary video from District Conference with images presented of projects in the District and “Let There Be Peace on Earth” sung during the presentation. It was a strong statement for taking our gifts and using them.
