Christina Lokey, a proud graduate of Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School, earned a Business degree from the University of Georgia before pursuing her passion for the culinary arts with a Culinary degree from the Art Institute of Atlanta.
Christina served as the Tourism and Marketing Director for the Beaumont Convention and Visitors Bureau for over six years, where she spearheaded efforts to strengthen local hospitality partnerships, enhance brand visibility, and execute strategic communications, advertising, and promotional campaigns. Her tenure was marked by a deep commitment to advancing ecotourism in Beaumont and Southeast Texas, with a particular focus on showcasing the region's birding and nature attractions.
She played a pivotal role in managing the Cattail Marsh Education Center at Tyrrell Park, which offers educational programming and free activities for visitors. Christina’s efforts also laid the groundwork for the planning and future development of the Tyrrell Park Nature Center, aimed at enriching nature tourism and positioning Beaumont as a premier birding destination.
As a co-founder of the Beaumont Mural Festival, Christina successfully guided the event for three years, leaving an enduring impact with the addition of over 49 murals across the city.
Currently, Christina serves as the Economic Development Manager for the City of Beaumont, where she focuses on fostering local business growth, attracting industrial investments, and building strategic partnerships to promote economic prosperity in the community.

The T. Kelsey Lamb, Sr. Award for Business Ethics is presented annually to a Beaumont Rotarian who consistently exhibits the highest ethical standards represented by the Rotary Four-Way Test in his or her chosen vocation.

Nominees must be a member in good standing of the Rotary Club of Beaumont.
Nominees will have exhibited high ethical standards in their chosen vocation arising from a specific incident or by their consistent actions over a period of time.

First presented in 1996, the T. Kelsey Lamb, Sr. Award for Business Ethics has annually recognized some of the Club's outstanding members. In 2024, this prestigious honor was presented to Roger McCabe.

Rotary Has Heart

The Rotary Club of Beaumont held its annual 'Rotary Has Heart' meeting on February 12 emphasizing the 'Service Above Self' mission of our international organization. This year's committee was led by Deborah Drago.
Through the generosity of the Beaumont Rotary Foundation and a District 5910 grant submitted by Uliana Trylowsky, Rotarians and guests assembled 150 layette bags with supplies for expecting and new mothers on the island of Roatan near Honduras. Roger and Sharen McCabe began this project after visiting a water well in Nicaragua in 2012. Rotarians leading the 2025 project include Lane Wilson boxing the layette bags, Pat Anderson delivering bags to Wesley Methodist Church, and Jay Wilson overseeing bag distributions.
Four additional non-profit organizations were assisted under the leadership of Rotarians Norma Sampson, Gift of Life, Deborah Tomov, Family Services of Southeast Texas, Sheree Pierce, Boys Haven, and Dena Hughes, Triangle AIDS Network.
Upcoming event reminders were announced including the President's Day Flag Project February 17, Pat Anderson, Rotary After Hours February 20, Kym Johns, T Kelsey Lamb Award March 19, Roger McCabe, Women's Day March 5, Virtue Alexander, Rotary Goes to Work, Lee Potter, Rotary Goes Home, Terri Potter, and the Executive of the Year Banquet May 1. Mikayla Bourque, executive director, was complimented for ordering all layette bags and items. President Michael Perez concluded the meeting with encouragement to members to bring guests and stay for the first annual Membership Informational Coffee after next week's meeting February 19.
