PROGRAM PREVIEW

"Is Social Media Worth the Investment?"

Rebekah Maxwell
Marketing Consultant
ReStep Marketing

What better way to start the new year than to assess all aspects of your business or organization to determine if your goals and strategies are up-to-date and working well.  Your assessment will certainly include a review of your public image and marketing plan.  Today’s speaker, Rebekah Maxwell, will help Rotarians through the myriad of opportunities business leaders have with regard to public image.  Rotarians will learn how social media can help build a positive public image for a business or nonprofit.  As Maxwell explains, "It is about more than going ’viral.’  It is about creating a consistent, genuine presence."

In addition to her full time role as Reaud Honors College Coordinator at Lamar University, Ms. Maxwell is the owner of ReStep Marketing.  As an experienced marketing consultant with a demonstrated history of working in the marketing and advertising industry, she is skilled in non-profit organizations and higher education market research and management.  Her education includes a Bachelor of Business Administration from Lamar University and a Master of Science focused in International Marketing from University of Strathclyde, completed as a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar in 2012.

January 30: Rotary Goes to Work!
Where will YOU attend YOUR meeting?

Our 1.2 million-member organization started with the vision of one man—Paul P. Harris. The Chicago attorney formed one of the world’s first service organizations, the Rotary Club of Chicago, on 23 February 1905 as a place where professionals with diverse backgrounds could exchange ideas and form meaningful, lifelong friendships. Rotary’s name came from the group’s early practice of rotating meetings among the offices of each member.

In the initial years of the organization, Rotarians learned about one another and the various diverse professions of the members by meeting in the offices, factories, businesses and firms of the club members.  How about doing as one of the original members did back in the early 1900s?
