PROGRAM REVIEW
July 11, 2018

"The Successful Transfer of Leadership"

Lynn Castle
2018-2019 President

Today’s program was the traditional Installation of President Lynn Castle and the Club leadership for 2018-2019.

Past District Governor Chuck Mason thanked Past President Tim Sudela and the Board of Directors for their service and dedication.  Chuck then assembled all Past-Presidents in attendance beginning with Charles Locke who served in 1969-1970 to 2017-18 President Tim Sudela, acknowledging the influence each has had, and continues to have, on our Rotary Club.  Chuck then led us in song and merriment, as we belted out a specially-written tune in honor of our new club President, Lynn (♪♪♪) Castle.

Lynn presented Tim with his Past President pin while he simultaneously presented her with the President's pin and badge, producing a rousing standing ovation.

President Lynn P. (♪♪♪) Castle then addressed the Club utilizing a PowerPoint presentation.  She introduced members to Rotary International President Barry Rassin, sharing a little of his personal background and accomplishments with us.  She spoke of the need for each member to “ Be The Inspiration,”  focusing this year on several key goals:
  • increasing our membership;
  • recruiting females and younger members;
  • increasing our humanitarian service;
  • enhancing our public image and awareness; and
  • contributing to the success of our Club projects.
She briefly reviewed some important dates for the year ahead and closed with a famous quote of Paul Harris, Rotary founder, "Rotary is a microcosm of a world at peace, a model which nations will do well to follow.”
