The Lower Neches Valley Authority provides for the present and long term freshwater needs of municipal, agricultural and industrial customers, protects water quality in the Neches River and Coastal Basin, insures affordability of the water supply, and enhances economic development in the Authority’s jurisdiction.
The Lower Neches Valley Authority (LNVA) is one of the 23 River Authorities created by the State of Texas to develop and manage the waters of the State. Each of these River Authorities was granted powers to conserve, store, control, preserve, utilize, and distribute the waters of its respective area for the benefit of its residents.

The Rotary Club of Beaumont was invited to participate in the Neches River Festival parade on Friday, April 13 in downtown Beaumont! What a great way to get the Rotary name out and about town!
Everyone is invited to participate by riding on the "float" or walking along the route. We will plan to throw candy to the children and have some fun.
If you are interested in chairing this fun project, please let President Tim know. We also need the use of an antique car, a good-looking truck or a flatbed trailer to decorate, and a truck or tractor (with driver) to pull the trailer. Can anyone help? Please let Tim or Jacque know asap.

Rebekah Maxwell gave the opening remarks and a great explanation about Rotaract. It is an independent, self-governing club that is sponsored by a regular Rotary Club. There are 8,000 Rotaract clubs worldwide with 184,000 members. Members are between the ages of 18-and-30 years old , usually young professionals and university students.
Mayor Becky Ames presented a City Proclamation recognizing the Lamar Rotaract chapter, for all their service projects, as well as their commitment to our community.
Madison Marino and Mary Kim, both Lamar University students, gave an annual report about their club. They were awarded the “Service Organization of the Year” at the annual Lamar Leadership Awards event. Rotaract projects include collecting blankets for the women’s shelter, making Christmas bags for Girl’s Haven, volunteering at the SETX Food Bank, and raising funds for the Nicaragua water well. They were also heavily involved in RYLA this year.
When Rotarians heard the Rotaract Club was only slightly short of the goal to raise the funds to dig a water well in Nicaragua, they began to pull out their wallets. With thanks to Randy Fluke for the quick action, a basket was passed around the room, and the goal was easily met in response to the Rotaractor's dedicated effort! Thank you, Rotarians!
It was refreshing to see great community involvement and leadership from young Rotaract (and future Rotary) members.
