Spring has arrived! And thoughts turn to outdoor fun, sun, and planting a spring garden that will turn into a harvest of fresh vegetables, herbs, and everything delicious!
Elaine Shellenberger will begin the presentation with an update on the Grow to Share Garden at Nutrition and Services for Seniors that Rotarians helped to construct.
Master Gardeners "Tony & Toni" will share great gardening information and teach us how to duplicate a similar producing garden for ourselves and to share with family and friends.
Roll up your sleeves and come learn some good information that you can grow into your own garden!

April 6 will be another very special meeting. The coveted T. Kelsey Lamb, Sr. Award for Business Ethics will be presented by Chair Joe Domino following a presentation by speaker and Rotarian, Dr. Henry Venta.
On April 13, Rotarians will hearDoron Bookshtein, Ph.D. in Political Science from Harvard University with vast knowledge
of the Middle East and its politics, speak on "Israel-Remembering the Past, Living the Present, Trusting the Future."

STUDENTS FOR SERVICE ABOVE SELF
2014 Recipients
The Rotary Club of Beaumont will recognize and honor students who have exemplified the Rotary "Service Above Self" attitude by demonstrating exceptional service in their school and community.
Award presentations will be made Wednesday, April 27, 2016, during the meeting to celebrate other youth activities and programs. Please note that this special recognition is not accompanied by a monetary award or scholarship.
Rotary After Hours: A Lovely Evening on the Neches!
After a bit of a cloudy start to the day, Thursday, March 24 turned out to be a wonderful evening for a cruise on the Neches River. A large group of Rotarians and friends gathered at the dock, boarded the Ivory Bill, and enjoyed the magnificent scenery, delicious snacks, and great fellowship for the two-hour tour of the beautiful Neches River.
Thanks go to Rob Glassey for arranging and promoting this event and to Becky Mason for providing the delicious food.
We send wishes for a quick recovery to our friends and fellow Rotarians who have been ill, had or are facing surgery, or just need our thoughts and prayers. We hope you are better soon!

"Rotary Goes to School!"
There is no way to put a value on the day that we call "Rotary Goes to School."
The students enjoy receiving a book of their very own to keep in their own personal collection for years to come. More than that, they are recipients of some very special time with a Rotarian or a representative of the Club, who spends a small amount of personal time reading, laughing, interacting, and encouraging these youngsters.
It is a moment in time for both that is, as they say, priceless.
PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING AND/OR WEAR THE DR. SEUSS HAT TO THE MEETING ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 30. CHAIR KAREN NEWTON HAS ARRANGED FOR A GROUP PHOTOGRAPH AT THE CLOSE OF THE MEETING.
