Kerr County Donations
Our hearts go out to the residents of Kerr County as they face the devastating effects of recent flooding. As Southeast Texans, we know all too well the heartbreak and hardship that follow such disasters. Now is our chance to show support and extend the same compassion and generosity that so many have shown us in our times of need. If you are able, we encourage you to make a donation to help those affected. Every contribution, no matter the size, can make a difference in the lives of families working to recover and rebuild.
Rotary District 5840 is now accepting tax-deductible donations through their 501(c)(3) Foundation to support urgent disaster relief efforts following the devastating flooding in Kerrville and nearby areas.
As many of you know, the Guadalupe River rose over 30 feet—well above its major flood stage—resulting in tragic loss of life and severe damage. Kerrville is home to two of our own Rotary Clubs, and together we are committed to standing with the community as they begin the long road to recovery.
Your generous contribution will:
Provide some immediate relief to affected families
Support local Rotarians in cleanup and rebuilding efforts
Fund long-term recovery solutions within our communities
We are working hand-in-hand with the Rotary Clubs of Kerrville, who will guide us on how best to direct support and when it will be safe for volunteers to mobilize.

PROGRAM REVIEW
July 2, 2025
Passing the Gavel and Installation of
President Uliana Trylowsky and
2025-2026 Board Members and Officers
By Joanne Brown
On July 2, 2025, Michael Perez, President 2024-25, welcomed Rotarians and guests to the opening meeting of the 2025-2026 year. Throughout Rotary International, from the club level to the international level, new leaders assume their roles on July 1. For the Rotary Club of Beaumont, President Uliana Trylowsky and her leadership team were installed by Past District 5910 Governor, Roger McCabe. A Beaumont Rotary club tradition includes the ‘passing of the gavel’ by all Past Presidents of the club.
Serving at the head table were Jeffrey Richardson, presentation of the Invocation, Tyler Marceaux, leading pledges to the United States & Texas flags, and Sarah Hardin, introduction of guests. Photos were courtesy of Jennifer Deaton Gregory.
Past District Governor Roger McCabe installed incoming officers: Diane Thompson, Secretary, Mary Pat Jones, Treasurer, and Jay Wilson, Jr. President Elect. Brad Brown, President 2022-23 will serve as Board Advisor.
Incoming directors installed are: Jacques Gagne and Robert Kocot, chairs of Recognition Programs, Amanda Ellis and Misty Fountain, chairs of the Action Lane, Jeff Beaver and Van Greer, Club/Meeting co-chairs, Kristie Young and Arne Almquist, Membership co-chairs, Misty Fountain, Public Image Chair, Terri Potter and John Rollins, Rotary Lane Co-chairs, Dena Hughes, and Dee Lane.
The following were not present but will be receiving their pins this week: Virtue Alexander, Vice President-Speakers and Van Greer, Sergeant-at-Arms.
Past-presidents participating in the “passing of the gavel” were Robert Robertson, 1974, James Broussard 1984-85, Jerry Nathan 1980-81, Floyd McSpadden 1999-2000, Kevin Roy 2009-10, Bobbie Applegate 2010-11, Becky Mason 2012-13, Chad Anderson 2013-14, Pat Anderson 2015-16, Tim Sudela 2017-18, Joe Domino, 2019-20 attending virtually, Brad Brown 2021-22, Joanne Brown 2022-23, Rebekah Maxwell 2023-24 and Michael Perez, 2024-25.
In her initial charge to the club, President Trylowsky noted that the usual ‘RI Presidential Theme’ was being replaced by the ‘RI Presidential Message’. The message for the 2025-26 RI year is ‘Unite for the Good’. She also shared that the overwhelming majority of club members who completed the Club Assembly survey emphasized the importance of highlighting club activities with our community. Ms. Trylowski’s unofficial message for the year will be, ‘Let’s Make Some Noise.’ She noted that her leadership team has been tasked with re-imagining some of our regular activities such as member engagement and orientation to ensure new members feel welcome and engaged.
Hearing no objections, twenty-two resignations presented at the June 25 meeting were processed before end of year June 30, 2025: Ellen Schulz, Farrah Severs-Young, Gary Troutman, Shawn Webb-Locke, Cheryl Williams, Kwanita Adair, Jacquetta Walker Alleman, Eddie W. Arnold, Sherry Barrow, Pamela Bennett, Jennifer Burch, Lynn Castle, Cindy Cherry, Dean Conwell, Deborah Drago, Ron Fletcher, Teri Hawthorne, Allan Higgins, Carl Lambeth, Dr. Helen Lou.
The meeting was attended by fifteen members virtually, and closed at 12:40 PM.
