The Rotary Club of Beaumont meeting began with President Uliana Trylowsky welcoming attendees, including Lee Potter as hall monitor, Brad Brown for the invocation, Robert Turner for pledges, and James Farren for guest introductions. 

There were two new member proposals presented: Jason Marshburn and Michael Kiefer. Tim Sudela then discussed the history of Rotary and the Paul Harris Fellow recognition, presenting awards to Daniel Jeans and Terri Potter for their contributions to the Rotary International Foundation. The conversation ended with Steve Shoemaker preparing to discuss service projects which included an update on Sleep in Heavenly Peace, a nonprofit organization that builds and delivers utility-grade twin-size beds for children in southeast Texas. He explained the upcoming build day on September 13th, which coincides with Bunks Across America, where the local chapter aims to build 100 beds. He. encouraged club members to sign up for the build day, emphasizing that it is a team-oriented experience requiring no specialized skills. He also mentioned the possibility of setting up monthly service opportunities with Sleep in Heavenly Peace, depending on the club's response.

Cheryl Bilyeu announced fundraising initiatives for an upcoming event, including ticket sales, raffle items, and corporate sponsorships. She requested Rotarians purchase at least two tickets and donate a wine bottle valued at $20 or more for a wine pool.

Kristie Young introduced Joshua Davis, a community leader and Vice President of Development at Legacy Community Health, who was set to speak about his experiences and involvement in various local organizations.

Josh Davis presented on Legacy, a community health center in southeast Texas, highlighting its mission to provide accessible healthcare to all, regardless of income or background. He discussed the various barriers to healthcare, such as financial, geographic, and language issues, and explained how Legacy addresses these through sliding scale fees, multiple clinic locations, and translation services. He also covered the services offered by Legacy, including primary and specialty care, behavioral health, and upcoming school-based health clinics, emphasizing the importance of preventive care and follow-up. Josh presented an overview of Legacy's healthcare services, highlighting their growth over the past 5-6 years and their strong performance as a Federally Qualified Health Center. He detailed their patient demographics, services, and achievements, including being ranked number one in Texas and number seven in the nation for patient counts. He also discussed their community outreach programs, such as back-to-school backpack distributions and pediatric holiday parties, emphasizing the impact these events have on the children and families they serve. Josh presented updates on the clinic's future plans, including a new state-of-the-art facility across the street and ongoing community initiatives. He discussed upcoming volunteer opportunities, including toy donations for a holiday party and reading programs for children and adults. He also highlighted the clinic's commitment to community health and literacy, as well as their involvement in animal rescue.

The conversation ended with a reminder about a upcoming presentation from the athletic director of Lamar University and an invitation for guests to join the club.
