The Board of Directors meets monthly and the meetings are open to all members. The next meeting will be on Tuesday, January 23. If you would like to attend the lunch meeting, please make a reservation in advance with the Executive Director.

HOLIDAY PARTY RECAP

The Rotary Club of Beaumont celebrated their annual Holiday Party at the Art Museum of Southeast Texas on December 14, 2023. The party was chaired by Past President Cindy Cherry and a great holiday committee to create a fun and festive event for everyone.

By tradition, the club announced the club President Nominee at the Holiday party. With the collaboration of Past Presidents, a song written by Lynn Castle and performed by Lynn Castle, Cindy Cherry, Bobbie Applegate and Diane Bass, the President Nominee was named. Uliana Trylowsky, Development Officer at Lamar University will serve as club President during the 2025-26 year. Trylowsky, a Rotarian since 2004, has been involved in many ways. Congratulations, Uliana!

Many thanks to Rotarian, Dr. James Han who led us in several holiday carols. The Beaumont Rotary Chorus was a huge success. Dr. Han was assisted by pianist Dr. Betty Duncan, who is always a joy to have with us.

Very special thanks to Rotarian Lynn Castle for making the Art Museum of Southeast Texas available to the Rotary Club of Beaumont and for ALL the “other” things she did to help make the event a success! Thank you and your staff for setting up the tables with the black table cloths; the tables and the setting for the party looked great! The PN reveal song was so creative and perfect for revealing Uliana Trylowsky! Great job!

Very special thanks to Rotarian Dr. James Han – for leading, rehearsing, and directing the Rotary and Friends Holiday Chorus! What an AMAZING one night only performance! The singing and piano music were beautiful! It was obvious that everyone really enjoyed the performance! We could not contain the smiles and applause! You and the Rotary and Friends Holiday Chorus received a very long, well-deserved standing ovation! It was VERY well-deserved! Very special thanks, also, to Dr. Betty Duncan for the very beautiful piano music accompaniment!

Very special thanks to Rotarian Cindy Cherry for leading the meeting of the President’s Council to select the PN for the reveal and also for working with Lynn Castle to reveal the 2025 PN at the Holiday Party!

Thank YOU for helping to make the 2023 Holiday Party a successful event!

SALVATION ARMY RED KETTLE PROJECT

Many Rotarians shared their holiday cheer by showing up for the Red Kettle Bell Ringing at Parkdale Mall this past Saturday, December 16. Thank you to Catie Miller for chairing this project! Also, thank you to each Rotarian and their family that showed up to help make this a success!

Every year, nearly 30 million Americans receive assistance from The Salvation Army in the form of meals, shelter, after-school programs, job referrals, youth shelter intervention programs, rehabilitation services, and more. The gifts you help collect through the Red Kettle will enable these local Salvation Army programs and services to continue providing help and hope to those in need.

For a number of years, the Rotary Club of Beaumont has been one of the many organizations that tend a booth at Parkdale Mall and participate in the collection process. It is a demonstration of "Service Above Self."
