“Salute to Club Leadership"
|
|
“You need to be aware of what others are doing, applaud their efforts, acknowledge their successes, and encourage them in their pursuits. When we all help one another, everybody wins.”
Jim Stoval, Motivational Speaker
|
|
The June 17 meeting will be the perfect opportunity to applaud those who gave extra effort during the 2014-15 Rotary year. Together, we enjoyed much success this year and it's time to acknowledge and express appreciation.

| Show Your Colors Flag Project |
 |
It's an easy date to remember - July 4th. It is the next time you are called to service for the "Show Your Colors" Flag Project. Save the date!
Let Pat Anderson, George Pate, or Travis Brewer know you can serve. If you own or have access to a truck, we really need you too!

| "Show YOUR Colors Too!" |
| Wow! Did you see some of the streets in Beaumont on Sunday! It was a "beautiful red, white and blue day" in Beaumont! Thank you to the great volunteers who made it so. People who phone the office wanting to subscribe to the Flag project often say they did not know where to call until they saw one of our yard signs that are seen around town on days when we distribute the flags. Please help your friends and neighbors join the program if they would enjoy having a flag in their yard also. Share the phone number and/or bring them a form to complete and return.
Now is a great time to get started as our new fiscal year and subscription year begins on July 1 for $100. Moreover, if YOU don't have a subscription, now is a great time to get into the program!

| Grow to Share Garden! |
 |
|
At least tentatively, Saturday, June 20, will be the day we hope to start work! Plan to be there if you can.
The Club will be providing expertise and a labor force to help Nutrition and Services for Seniors as they build a garden to plant, grow and provide fresh produce for seniors and the homebound who receive meal delivery. Such a great project and we are excited to have the opportunity to assist with this effort as our quarterly undertaking!
Plan to bring work gloves, a hat, sunscreen, and a power screwdriver if you have one.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR PROMPT PAYMENT!
|
|
|
|
There has been a slight delay in invoicing for July - December 2015 dues because of some improvements we are attempting to make in the online payment process. At the Board's direction, we are working to change from a direct bill to more of a "shopping cart" format so you can easily choose to make donations more easily. Invoices will be sent soon. Please watch your email for the electronic invoice to arrive within the next few days.
We need your assistance with prompt payment as we comply with new procedures for billing by Rotary International for dues. We will be billed on July 1 for your RI dues so the Board appreciates your payment to the club by that date as well.
You are asked to please consider a donation to the Beaumont Rotary Foundation for "Service Above Self" at the same time. Your generous donations help to fund the many projects of the club in our community.
If you would like to process your payment right away, please click on the image above and you will be automatically directed to the secure payment page. And if you would ike to mail your check, please send to:
Rotary Club of Beaumont
MCM Elegante, Suite 213
2355 Interstate 10 South
Beaumont, TX 77705
If you need a printed copy of your invoice emailed or mailed to you, or a copy forwarded to another person/office, please phone the Rotary office.

No One Asked?
Now We're Asking.
No More Excuses!
How Will You Serve?
|

 |
|
"Gee, I wish I could be on that Committee." "I sure would like to be a part of that!" "I wish some one would ask ME to help that way!"
Have you ever had those thoughts and really wanted to get involved in some way but didn't know know to go about it? This is your chance!
President Elect Pat Anderson is asking YOU how and/or where you would like to be a bigger part of the Club's activities and projects in 2015-16. Tell him! Complete an interest survey in the next week or so and you will be contacted by the Committee chair or Pat himself!
|
| Surveys will be on the tables each week through June or you can complete the survey online by accessing it here. |

| Did You Earn Perfect Attendance? |
|
It is always a very special day when we have the opportunity to recognize club members for contributions to the successes of the year. We also recognize those who have managed to earn Perfect Attendance for the year either through meeting attendance, and eClub makeup, serving on and attending committee meetings, or attending a makeup event. Did you submit a makeup for every meeting you missed?
As we assure that no one is omitted in the recognition process, please help us by reviewing the list below. If you think your name should be included and it is not listed here, please call the Rotary office immediately as we may have overlooked make-ups that were submitted, a committee you worked on, etc. Please help us correct the error. (Reminder: you must have been a member of the club for one full year to be eligible this year.)

| Texas Windstorm Insurance Association |
John Polak is the General Manager for TWIA (Texas Windstorm Insurance Association). He spoke about TWIA and the changes that have taken place over the past 5-10 years.
TWIA offers windstorm and hail insurance to home and commercial properties that are on the Texas Gulf Coast. There are 13 counties that are eligible to purchase insurance policies through TWIA. Currently, the most important thing regarding TWIA customers is the ability for TWIA to pay claims. The new standard set by TWIA is its ability to pay claims based on a 1 in 100 storm – this is essentially a storm of the century scenario. Also, TWIA employs more claims adjusters than ever before which ultimately leads to claims being paid in a timely fashion. These two items (financial ability to pay large claims and ability to pay them quickly) leads to fairer premiums and more sustainability.
TWIA is different today than at the time of Hurricane Ike. Policyholders should be comforted in the fact that all facets of the organization including culture, operations, and management have been modernized to meet the needs to the coastal county consumers.
