PROGRAM REVIEW
March 12, 2025

Jessica Hill, Project Manager
Entergy
By Tim Sudela and Joanne Brown

Mr. Ron Fletcher, Industrial Account Executive at Entergy Texas, introduced Jessica Hill, Project Manager, Business & Economic Development with Entergy as guest speaker at the March 12, 2025 meeting of the Rotary Club of Beaumont. The focus of Ms. Hill's presentation was 'Economic Development' which seeks to improve economic well-being and quality of life for our community. A serious economic development program creates jobs, lowers residential tax rates, and promotes a vibrant community where people want to live, work, and play. Ms. Hill reminded the audience of the vast resources that our area has to offer to entice potential industrial projects including transportation, existing petrochemical industries, and a strong business friendly climate. She also discussed some emerging projects in the works including the growing 'Data Center' needs. Ms. Hill also stressed the importance of collaboration with community partners including cities, schools, Chambers of Commerce, and site selection groups. She encouraged everyone to view this 5:50 min video produced by the Southeast Texas Economic Development Foundation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xq32TyHEeOs

Rotarians with dedicated participation in the meeting were Virtue Alexander at the check-in table, Christina Lokey presenting the invocation, Paul Koester leading pledges to the American and Texas flags, and Sheree Pierce introducing guests. Visiting Rotarian Debbie Bridgeman extended an invitation to join the Spindletop Rotary Club April 3 for their Roast honoring Retired Police Chief Jimmy Singletary. President Michael Perez introduced Mark Stiles, retired member of the Texas House of Representatives, as our club's newest member. Paul Koester, Rotarian of the Day, provided details for the upcoming Christus St. Elizabeth Gala with Gavin McGraw on April 5th. Kyra Simpson was announced as a princess in the upcoming Neches River Festival with the Rotary Club of Beaumont as her sponsor.  Photos taken at the meeting were courtesy of Jennifer Gregory.
