March 11-17, 2024, has been designated as World Rotaract Week. World Rotaract Week is an annual celebration of the success and importance of Rotaract in communities around the world. There are over 184,000 members in over 8,000 clubs worldwide. The good work of Rotaract members will be celebrated across the globe and did the same right here in Beaumont by welcoming Christian Guillory, Lamar Rotaract President as our speaker at the Club's weekly meeting. He was joined in the audience by Beau Waldrop, an officer of LU Rotaract.

Rotaract is a service club for young men and women ages 18 to 30 who are dedicated to community and international service. Although the Beaumont Rotary Club sponsors and supports the Lamar University Rotaract Club the LU Rotaract Club is self-governing and self-supporting.

The club is actively engaged in many service projects for 2023-2024 such as:

Rotary Conference in April

There are many projects being considered for the future but one of the projects that this club began – Fall into Action – has been adopted by Lamar University as a permanent service project. This is the fall equivalent of the Big Event that is held in the spring. The University invites all campus service organizations and clubs to participate in a day of service. This club is definitely forward thinking and leads rather than follows.

One of the goals for the club is to motivate members of RYLA at the high school level and encourage them to join Rotaract. That helps all Rotary Clubs by moving students from the high schools and colleges into the rooms of Rotary. Thank you to these student leaders for all that they have done for Rotary both locally and internationally.
