Show Your Colors Flag Project
Please mark your calendar and plan to help with the "Show Your Colors" Flag Project on Tuesday,June 14 for Flag Day.
Please let Pat Anderson or Gary Moncla know if you will be available for this important service project. If you own or have access to a truck, we need your commitment too! The more trucks we have available, the more routes we can plan which makes the delivery time shorter for everyone. That is very helpful to those who have to get to work that morning.

INVOICES INCLUDE VOLUNTARY DONATION
On the current invoices, you will notice a difference in the total from previous invoices. Dues have not increased, but the addition of an amount of $50 has been added.
The Beaumont Rotary Foundation Board of Trustees asked that this nominal $50 be added to the invoices as a reminder that a voluntary tax-deductible donation to the Beaumont Rotary Foundation for "Service Above Self" is requested. Members are asked to please consider the voluntary donation to help support the service projects.
Since dues billings have become an electronic tool, the amount of Service Above Self donations has dropped significantly. We attribute that to Rotarians not understanding HOW to add dollars into the payment system. If you wish to donate more or less, simply pay online the amount you would like.
The voluntary amount of $50 semi-annually/$100 annually is only $8.33 per month. That is less than you would pay for one lunch at your favorite fast-food restaurant! Yet, that gift helps to fund the many projects of the club in our community. Simply submit the donation along with your dues payment and we will transfer that amount to the Beaumont Rotary Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization for tax-deductible gifts. Of course, if you are accustomed to making a larger donation and/or including The Rotary Foundation as a beneficiary of your generosity also, we hope you will continue doing so. It is most necessary for us to continue the work in our community and around the world.

"The Role of the ISTC in Industry"

The International Safety Training Council (ISTC) was formed in 1991 as a collaboration of plant managers and contract worker construction companies in order to improve the training and safety of the workforce. The 501(c)(3) opened formally in 1991 in order to certify safety training for plant contractors. Presently there are 18 members on the Board of Directors: 9 each from contractors and plant personnel.
Growth of ISTC occurred:
1995 with the purchase of 2 buildings with more seating and computer based training,
2000 a Baytown facility was opened,
2004 ISTC took over the fire school in Beaumont
2013 additional tests and space for seating
2016 new 76,000 square foot training center that seats 760
Average number of students per day is 450
Average number of tests taken per student is 3.1.
ISTC certifies contract workers for contractors. They certify workers with customized training courses on safety compliance in the plants. Each plant requests specific tests (which are now nationalized and available to certification in other areas of the country). Background checks are also completed.
The Mission of ISTC is to promote a safe and secure environment.
The Vision of ISTC is to be the preferred site for training specifications with a look to broadening that outreach into other related areas.
The Value presented by ISTC is to make a total commitment to "Quality, Teamwork and Customer Service."
It seems that the proper leadership is in place for the mission, vision and values to go forward into the future.
