30 SOMETHING
Our "30 Something" program Chairs, Bobbie Applegate and Stephanie Shoemaker, would like to invite you to the first "30 Something" gathering of the year hosted by Brad Brown at the First Financial (lunch will be provided) on Monday, April 7, 2025 from Noon-1:00pm.
Many years back, someone in our club asked... "how many new members do we have in the Club at any given time?" Someone replied... "We always have about 30 something new members." Thus, the term... "30 Something" was born!
This is a great opportunity for newer members to gather and learn more about the club while having an opportunity to ask questions - sort of an informal "sophomore orientation." It will be a relaxed and informal setting.

T. Kelsey Lamb Award

The Rotary Club of Beaumont March 26 meeting was opened by President Michael Perez. Amanda Ellis presented the Invocation, Jacqueline Gunner led pledges to the United States and Texas flags, and Jason Apodaca introduced Guests. Kym Johns announced Rotary After Hours is March 27 at The Grill. Mr. Perez announced the Rotary Scholarship application deadline is April 1, followed by April 8for the non-traditional application. Jacques Gagne announced book selection for Rotary Goes to School at Martin Elementary is April 3. Craig Escamilla presented information from the March 25Board meeting which included one new member proposal, one member resignation, and one member termination.
Jay Wilson introduced keynote speaker Lynn Liles Willhite. Mrs. Willhite was born and reared in Palestine, Texas, earned mathematics degrees from TCU and Texas A&M, and pursued a Master of Divinity at Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, and served twenty-seven years as pastor in United Methodist churches. In 2016, she founded WE CARE Palestine, Texas, a non-profit organization based on the commandment to love your neighbor as you love yourself. Mrs. Willhite message shared the Rotary International ‘Code of Conduct’. The code emphasizes ethical behavior and fosters a welcoming, inclusive environment for all Rotarians and participants, promoting service, fellowship, diversity, integrity, and leadership. Mrs. Willhite also shared the importance of really believing, and practicing, the Rotary 4-Way Test seven days a week.
Roger McCabe, chair of the T. Kelsey Lamb, Sr. Award for Ethics, presented the 2025 award to Craig Escamilla. Mr. Escamilla is owner of CAE Solutions, LLC and has been a member of the Rotary Club of Beaumont since June 2008. He has served our community in several capacities. The number of family and friends who surprised Mr. Escamilla at the meeting is evidence of his indelible impact on our community. President Perez ended the meeting with a request for all past recipients of the T. Kelsey Lamb, Sr. award to stand and be recognized.
