July 11, 2018

The installation of every new president is a special time in the history of any Rotary Club, but July 11 will be especially historic for the Rotary Club of Beaumont as the 2018-2019 president is inducted. Lynn P. Castle will become the sixth woman to hold the position of president of the Club since the July 1987 United States Supreme Court decision which confirmed that women could become members of Rotary International.

Rotarians will witness the Passing of the Gavel from one past president to the next, an illustration of the lengthy legacy of strong leadership the Club has enjoyed for more than 100 years until it reaches the hands of the incoming president, signifying continuing support for the Rotary year ahead.

Several months ago, a set of car keys were left on a table following a meeting. It has a key fob that does not identify the owner, but it is a Mercedez-Benz. It also contains other keys that appear to be for an office. Please claim if they are yours and please check if they might belong to a guest you brought to a meeting with you.

Also, more recently, a pair of ladies sunglasses with prescription lenses was found.
