Congressman Randy Weber is a public servant, proven conservative, former small business owner, and third-generation Texan representing the 14th District of Texas.
In Congress, he serves on the House Energy and Commerce Committee, which has the broadest jurisdiction of any legislative committee in Congress. Weber also serves on the Science, Space and Technology Committee. He previously served on the House Foreign Affairs and Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.
For over 70 years, Randy Weber has called the Gulf Coast home - a place to start a family and build a business. Although juggling work and family takes great amounts of time and effort, Weber makes time to be an active member of his church and community. Weber built his air conditioning company, Weber’s Air & Heat, in 1981 from scratch.
Prior to being elected to Congress, Weber served four years in the Texas State House. During his tenure, Weber served on the committees of Environmental Regulation, Public Education, and as Vice Chair of Border and Intergovernmental Affairs. While serving in the Texas House, Randy Weber authored landmark legislation to combat human trafficking and protect women, young girls, and boys - some as young as 12 years old.
Weber has lived in a 20-mile radius all his life and has been married to Brenda Weber, a retired schoolteacher, for nearly 50 years. He is a graduate of Alvin Community College and holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Houston at Clear Lake. Randy and Brenda have three children, eight wonderful grandchildren, and two precious great-granddaughters.

MEMORIAL RESOLUTION TO BE PRESENTED
Since the earliest days of the Rotary Club of Beaumont, it has been a tradition to record the passing of a member into Club history with the writing of a Memorial Resolution to document his/her service and contributions. The reading of the Resolution is an opportunity to reflect on the good deeds and significant impact the Rotarian had on the Club and the community. The formally printed document is given to the family members, added to the Club's archives, and entered into the records of the Tyrrell Historical Library.
On October 7, the Rotary Club of Beaumont will gather to recognize and celebrate the life of former Rotarian Evelyn Lord.
Evelyn passed away on December 13, 2024. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and serving alongside her.
The Rotary Pollinator Garden Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was on Thursday, October 1, 2026, from 4:30pm-5:30pm at the Tyrrell Park Nature & Visitor Center. We celebrated the opening of our Pollinator Garden Boxes, sponsored by Rotary Club of Beaumont and the Spindletop RotaryClub, and the community partnership that brought this project to life. Superintendent, Beaumont ISD
The Rotary Club of Beaumont meeting opened with a welcome from President Jay Wilson, followed by an invocation from Bobby Applegate. Brooke Morrow said the pledges and Desiree Pete introduced guests, and members were reminded of several upcoming Rotary activities, including the ribbon cutting for the Rotary Pollinator Garden at the Tyrrell Park Nature and Visitor Center, Polio Awareness Month activities, and the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. The club also announced that the memorial resolution honoring the legacy of former Mayor and Rotarian Evelyn Lord will be held next week. Diane Bass led a Rotary graduation ceremony, presenting blue badges and one master's degree to several members in recognition of their continued involvement and commitment to Rotary.
Members also received updates on several upcoming service projects and fundraising events. Steve Shoemaker provided information about The Giving Field’s annual fundraising event, while Cheryl Bilyeu encouraged members to support the upcoming Wine Down with Rotary by purchasing tickets, donating bottles of wine for the wine pull, and contributing raffle items. Members were also encouraged to participate in BISD Reads Day on October 30. These opportunities highlighted the club’s continued commitment to service and community involvement.
The featured program was presented by Beaumont ISD Superintendent Sandi Massey, who shared the district’s vision of ensuring that every student is known, supported, challenged, and prepared. Massey discussed several significant challenges facing BISD, including school accountability ratings, with 18 of 23 rated schools receiving a D or F, as well as a notable decline in student attendance from approximately 96% to 92% during the first seven weeks of the school year. She also highlighted concerns with student achievement, including third-grade reading performance, and emphasized the important role that families, businesses, and community organizations can play in improving student attendance and educational outcomes.
Massey outlined BISD’s new instructional model for students in grades 3 through 10, focusing on reading and mathematics through 90-minute instructional blocks, gradual release of responsibility, assessment, and differentiated instruction. She also reported a significant decrease in student behavior issues and discussed efforts to address barriers contributing to declining attendance, including transportation challenges and student engagement. The presentation provided Rotarians with insight into both the challenges and opportunities facing Beaumont students and emphasized the importance of community partnerships in supporting BISD’s efforts. The meeting concluded with the recitation of the Rotary Four-Way Test.
