The T. Kelsey Lamb, Sr. Award for Business Ethics is presented annually to a Beaumont Rotarian who consistently exhibits the highest ethical standards represented by the Rotary Four-Way Test in his or her chosen vocation.

The original criteria for the award explains:
Nominees must be a member in good standing of the Rotary Club of Beaumont.
Nominees will have exhibited high ethical standards in their chosen vocation arising from a specific incident or by their consistent actions over a period of time.
First presented in 1996, the T. Kelsey Lamb, Sr. Award for Business Ethics has annually recognized some of the Club's outstanding members. In 2022, this prestigious honor was presented to Mary Poole.

An annual tradition since 1996, the Award is named in honor of the late T. Kelsey Lamb, Sr. who served as 1942-43 President of our club and as 1951-52 District Governor. It is presented to a Beaumont Rotarian who consistently exhibits the highest ethical standards represented by the Rotary 4-Way Test in his or her chosen profession.

Our Club will award the coveted honor at the March 27th meeting. The deadline for submitting a nomination is Friday, February 29, 2024.
Today’s Program had many participants, and all contributed to this program review. Leading the presentation was Phil Dunlap who provided clarification of a somewhat confusing topic for new and some not so new members of the Rotary Club of Beaumont. One of the topics discussed during each club orientation relates to giving to the Rotary Foundation. The Rotary International Foundation unites Rotarians throughout the world in our quest to address our Seven Areas of Focus. But did you know that the Rotary Club of Beaumont has its own foundation? Yes, We Do!
It's called the Beaumont Rotary Foundation, and this month is the 50th anniversary of our Foundation. Ken Ruddy provided the inspiration for formation of the foundation – primarily to provide funding for the local charitable work of our club. A committee was form including Ken Ruddy, Peter Wells, Tom Lamb, Elvis Mason, Mark Steinhagen and Robert Robertson, who was President of the club. John Quigley filed the forms with the State of Texas to activate the foundation on January 18, 1974.
Today’s program was presented by Phil Dunlap, Chuck Heare, Roger McCabe, Chris Ayers and Floyd McSpadden. Each of these Rotarians presented an aspect of the Foundation including the mission, goals and current financial position. The foundation assets have grown from a few thousand dollars in the beginning to $897,438.96 at year end 2023. Some of the projects that benefit from the foundation include RYLA, the Centennial Playground, Scholarships, Martin Elementary’s The Nest and many disaster relief projects.
Funds are raised through the largest fundraiser – The Flag Project. Also, Wine Down with Rotary proceeds contribute to the Foundation as well as individual donations through Service Above Self, Legacy Gifts, Bequeaths and Donor Advisory Funds. The Legacy Society is comprised of members who have informed the club in writing that they have made a provision in their estate plans for the Rotary Club of Beaumont or the Beaumont Rotary Foundation. Members who have made significant contributions to the foundation include Roger and Sharon McCabe, Charles Weinbaum, Jr, Joe Fisher and Chuck and Becky Mason.
