Jason Watson has served as the Environmental Stewardship Manager at the Lower Neches Valley Authority (LNVA) since October 2019. His journey with LNVA began in 2017 as the Geographic Information Systems Specialist, a role he held until September 2019. Before joining LNVA, Jason gained extensive experience as a business owner and ISA Certified Arborist in the Texas Hill Country, specifically in Llano, and as a crew leader for the National Park Service in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Gatlinburg, TN.

A native of Southeast Texas, Jason grew up in Silsbee and pursued his education at Stephen F. PROGRAM REVIEW
August 14, 2024

Roy West
Mayor, City of Beaumont
By Joanne Brown and Tim Sudela

The Honorable Roy West Jr., Mayor, City of Beaumont, was introduced by Virtue Alexander as guest speaker at the August 14 meeting. Mayor West’s bio includes service as a Houston Police officer, a small business owner in the home-security arena, and a multi-million-dollar producer in the mortgage field. He graduated from Lamar University with a BS in Sociology and SMU with a Master of Divinity.

Mayor West has always had a reputation for promoting Beaumont. His message to the packed house at the meeting and the twenty-eight members attending virtually, was that each of us can be more positive as we promote our city and the many resources that we have. With a strong transportation infrastructure, robust industry partners, and local educational institutions, we are in a unique position for future growth.

Mayor West confirmed his belief in Beaumont’s Vision 2035: The Downtown Plan, and provided copies of the recent RFP for the development of the downtown hotel and convention complex. We pursue this growth, not only for the here and now, but for our future generations. Roy's personal philosophy is simple yet powerful; "People deserve to be treated well."

Congratulations to Roy West Jr. for being awarded his Rotary Blue Badge prior to his presentation.
