I received my education in Meteorology in 1979 and joined KFDM-TV in July, 1979, As you might imagine, it is quite rare for anyone to stay at the same station for that length of time.
Not only do I appear on the evening news on television, I also give weather reports on KLVI-AM weekday mornings. I also do weather consulting work for area industry and emergency management.
I have forecasted literally over 100 hurricanes and tropical storms over the years and take great pride in helping the families of Southeast Texas weather these weather events. Some of the most memorable storms were Allen in 1980, Alicia in 1983, Bonnie in 1986, Andrew in 1992, Rita in 2005, Humberto in 2007, and of course Ike in 2008.
Obviously Rita and Ike were the "big" events with those hurricanes causing extensive damage in Southeast Texas. Hopefully the hurricane seasons in the future will be quiet in our area.
Being an Aggie, I am a big supporter of Texas A&M football and you will usually find me and my family at Kyle Field at home games.
I also have a greenhouse and nursery business at my home near Winnie called "Bostwick Farms". I grow and sell plants to area landscapers and nurseries and really enjoy getting my hands dirty.
My family and I have made Southeast Texas our home and hope to enjoy retirement here in the future. Thanks for trusting KFDM-TV for your weather needs.

Honduras Recap
Some members of the Rotary Club of Beaumont traveled to Honduras to help to assist the Rotary Clubs in Roatan and Utila as well as distribute the layette bags. In February, our club assembled layette bags for expecting and new mothers as part of our Service Day. We're so glad that Dana Timaeus chaired this event so that President Michael Perez, Cheryl Bilyeu, Jay Wilson Sr. and Jay Wilson Jr. could take part in this great project.
On Wednesday, June 4, the Rotary Club of Beaumont’s noon meeting was called to order by,
Arne Almquist. Also present at the head table were: Cindy Jeanis providing the Invocation, Jackie Gunner leading in pledges to the flags, Melissa Cornwell introducing our guests, and Uliana Trylowsky.
Announcements included: the Flag Project needing volunteers on June 14th.
Terri Potter recognized with appreciation the hosts for Rotary Goes Home and of those present were Becky Mason and Sheree Pierce.
Van Greer gave a report on the May 27 Board meeting which included new member proposals of Sarah Hardin with the Arc of Greater Beaumont and Annette Raggette with Raggette Consulting.
New members were introduced: Jeffrey Richardson with the McFaddin Ward House and Tyler Marceaux with First Financial Bank.
Uliana Trylowsky took over the program by explaining the purpose of the Club Assembly for the 2025-26 Rotary year. She has distributed 2 questionnaires: Health Check and a Sign-up for areas for which members are interested in assisting. Uliana read down a list of Rotary “Lanes” and identified the chairmen for each lane and explained some of the activities that were included for the lane. This allowed members to have a better view of the activities to be continued and some new ones added so that members could indicate which they would like to volunteer to assist. Several of the chairmen did also comment about their assignments and how others could be useful to be on the committee.
Next week’s speaker will be Greg Bostwick. After reciting the 4-way pledge, the meeting was adjourned
