Reading the TxDOT Twitter feed makes a person tired. The posts about projects starting and finishing are numerous and the work of the Beaumont division of this state-wide agency is jaw-dropping. Of course, just a drive around the area confirms that TxDOT is at work everywhere!
Come hear from Tucker Ferguson, P.E. and District Engineer, and learn about what projects of TxDOT have recently been complete, what projects are underway, and what is being studied for future improvements of your daily driving.
Tucker Ferguson, P.E., is the District Engineer for the Beaumont District of the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). He is responsible for the management, direction and administration of all highway and bridge planning, design, construction and maintenance and operations programs for nearly 2,400 miles and 1,500 bridges in the eight county region of south east Texas (Chambers, Hardin, Jasper, Jefferson, Liberty, Newton, Orange and Tyler Counties).

Let's Give a Holiday Gift Together!
"Rotarians at Work" again! This quarter, the Club will be creating a real holiday gift for Family Services Women's and
Children's Shelter of Southeast Texas.
The Shelter is in the midst of some remodeling and they need help with completing the project so it can quickly be put to use.
We can make it happen, as our gift to this non-profit that assists victims of domestic abuse.
Rotarians are needed to paint a community room, install carpet squares and hang blinds. This is another "done in a day" project if we have enough people to help. Can you?
MONDAY, DECEMBER 19, 2016
9:00 a.m.
The address for the facility is not public. Please call the Rotary office at 842-1913 to let us know you will volunteer for the project and the address will be provided to you.

2016 Vocational Excellence Award
Recipients & Nominators
What a wonderful day! On November 30, Rotarians took such great pleasure in recognizing hard work and professional contributions of thirteen individuals who give their best work in their chosen profession. They exemplify the Four Way Test in their work and inspire others to do the same. Each was honored with a brief presentation by the Rotarian nominator and received a framed certificate to remember their exemplary work is noted by those around them.
Thank you to all those who submitted a proposal for a deserving candidate. And, thank you to the committee: Chair-Bridget Johnson, Sharae Reed, Nancy Stretcher, and Sheree Pierce.
