Paul Latiolais is the Center Director for Innovation and Commercialization at Lamar University, which serves as an incubator for emerging technology under development at the university. The center’s purpose is to bring emerging technologies out of research and prepare them for the marketplace leveraging expertise from Lamar’s Colleges of Engineering, Science, and Business. Paul has extensive industry experience in engineering technology, business development, and product launch to Fortune 500 companies. He has initiated numerous technology products in the semiconductor/hi-tech industries and managed the lifecycle process from product development, incubation, launch, marketing, and next-generation introduction. Mr. Latiolais worked with technology global leaders such as Synopsys, Inc. (NASDQ:SNPS), Mentor Graphics Corp. (NASDAQ:MENT), Schlumberger, and Northrop-Grumman across the US including San Jose, CA and Portland, OR. Mr. Latiolais holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University and an MBA from George Fox University (Newberg, OR) as well as general management certificates from the Oregon Graduate Institute. |

With postponement of Wine Down With Rotary, we have re-scheduled the weekly meeting on October 4 at the Eleganté. A 1968 graduate of Harvard College, Chase Untermeyer served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a Texas state representative, an assistant secretary of the Navy under President Reagan; director of Presidential Personnel and director of the Voice of America under the first President Bush; and U.S. ambassador to Qatar under the second President Bush. He is currently an international business consultant, chairman of the Houston Committee on Foreign Relations, a member of the Texas Ethics Commission, and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. He is the author of three volumes of diary-based memoirs of the Reagan-Bush era and the book How Important People Act. August 2017

Congressman Randy Weber is a public servant, proven conservative and successful small business owner representing the 14th District of Texas. Weber currently holds a key leadership role on the Science, Space, and Technology (SST) committee, serving as the Chairman of the Energy Subcommittee. He is also a newly-appointed member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, where he serves on the following Subcommittees: Water Resources and Environment, Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation, as well as Railroads, Pipelines, and Hazardous Materials. Prior to being elected to Congress, Weber served four years in the Texas State House. Weber served on the committees of Environmental Regulation, Public Education, and as Vice Chair of Border and Intergovernmental Affairs. Randy Weber authored landmark legislation to combat human trafficking and protect women, young girls, and boys. On the House Foreign Affairs committee, Weber continued the fight against human trafficking, as well as, co-sponsored legislation to strengthen our foreign policies and relationship with our allies across the globe. As Chairman of the Energy Subcommittee, Weber’s top priority is to fight for sane energy policies that will not stifle our economy, but create jobs and promote our business community.
