Meeting Notes November 7, 2012

The Club welcomed Gil Harrison as our newest member .  He will be formally inducted at a meeting in the next few weeks.

Our next Community Service event is Friday, Nov 16 serving breakfast to at risk youth at Urban Peak.  Please respond to the evite.

Calling all Rotarians!!  The District Conference is April 26-28 in Vail and there is a discount if you register by November 30.  No risk incolved as you can receive a refund up to April.

The speaker for the day was Chris Ciani from "Very Special Arts".  VSA is an international organization  that opens doors to creative and educational opportunities for people with disabilities to access and experience the arts.  They currently have 23 students, some of whom were referred from Urban Peak and who are developing job skills through  VSA.  Their current show features art work from 3 deaf artists.   The studio gallery is located at 909 Santa Fe Drive in the Santa Fe Arts District. 

Happy dollar reports:  Mark's son passed his Financial Specialist exam.  Congradulations!!  Mary is enjoying her work with refugees at South High School.  Bob's daughter in N.J. is very popular as she has electricity after  "Sandy".  Charlene is accepting warm clothing donations through Monday to ship to the East Coast to help those left in need due to "Sandy".
