Denver LoDo Rotary community service project at Jack's Solar Garden.

On August 22nd ten participants help weed the pollinator garden around Jack's Solar Garden in Longmont.  Jack's is a family run solar project that will provide 1.2 megawatts of power to the Xcel grid when completed.  The project is run by Rotarian Byron Kominek who is a member of our club's Returned Peace Corps satellite group.  The volunteers were members of the Denver LoDo morning club, satellite group, Daybreak Toastmasters and spouses (Charlie Hunt is a member of all the groups).

The club anticipates repeating the service project as there is ample room for social distancing.  The service project was reported in the local newspaper Left Hand Valley Courier by Emily Long, who as luck turns out is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer having served in Thailand.  You can read the article here.

This is a super opportunity for other District 5450 clubs to do a social distance community service.  Please contact  byron@jackssolargarden.com  to learn about volunteer opportunities.  You can get more information on the solar garden and how to volunteer at Jack's Solar Garden website.
