The days and years fly by and we cannot let them pass without saying thank you to one of our stalwarts, Dr. Merl (Doc) Jacobsen.  For his decades of service in his vocation as well as in Rotary he has received the Service Above Self Lifetime Honorary Membership in the Rotary Club of Littleton.
Newer members will not have known Doc when he was club President, 1982-83, or when he led the significant Project C.U.R.E Capital Campaign to purchase their world headquarters and warehouse.
Littleton Rotarians still volunteer for Project C.U.R.E. each month, visiting the building with the Rotary logo outside.  It was the efforts of Doc, and his late wife Barbara, that such a substantial contribution was possible. And it was through their efforts that generous matching funds from Jake Jab's American Furniture Warehouse were possible, which concluded with the purchase and opening of Project C.U.R.E.'s Centennial, CO facility.
Merl has been recognized for his meaningful contributions to The Rotary Foundation as well as our local Littleton Rotary Foundation. He focused his participation and support of Rotary projects on health care and helped open the door to critical services for so many of our neighbors in need. Our community of Littleton has benefited greatly from the care and generosity of Dr. Merl Jacobsen.
Thank you, Doc.
